Chapman Fall 2018 Transfers

I got rejected today! It didn’t really matter because I already signed to another school, but during my interview the lady told me it was for the top 20% and she kept saying everyone loved my video. So confused
Anyway, congrats to everyone that got in!

Transfer to Chapman University: What are my chances?

Hell, I am currently finishing my last semester (hopefully) at community college. I would like to transfer to Chapman as a Biology major with a minor in business, however my gpa is a bit low for my expectations at a 3.1 at the time of transfer. Is this too low to get in. I’m really nervous about applying because of this. Thank you!

I was asked for my spring mid-term grades back in April, and another recent transcript as well.
I applied for BS Accounting from a CCC with a 3.81 GPA. All generals and accounting pre-reqs have been fulfilled.
Heard back May 15 around 5:00pm!
I got in! I am so happy and excited! I am still waiting on other colleges but Chapman is so beautiful that I’d be torn to choose!

@transfer201831i am officially going to chapman btw!

ACCEPTED! Film Production at Chapman - Dodge! Fall 2018
Special Case Story!!

Background:
Transfer Student from Santa Monica College (2 years, GE (IGETC Certified) + 2 Associates in Film Production and Film Studies)
Previously spent about 3 semesters at College of the Desert (GE’s. Close to my parents home).
GPA from SMC: 3.8
Extracurricular Activities: None at College of the Desert (school sucked tbh)
At SMC though, I did as much as I could. Love that school and their film program. #1 transfer school in California for a reason for sure. I was Secretary for the Film Club in Spring 2017 and then President in Fall 2017. Had a paid internship with the school shooting/editing promo videos for various departments on campus. Part of Associated Student Body. Fostered events between various clubs. I made it a goal when I got to SMC to get involved and I did… I left my mark for sure.

STORY:
I got two letters. My first letter came late afternoon on Friday April 27th 2018. I opened it the next morning to find that I was rejected. Extremely disappointed, but also confused. I felt that my application was veryyyy strong and they had me do a Skype interview which I thought went really well too! Then the following Monday morning I get a call from one of the transfer counselors… She tells me I got the wrong letter!!! I ask how, what happened? She told me I was one of six to get the wrong letter. They caught the bug because someone else had received the wrong letter as well and had called in to ask why he was rejected. After going through his profile, they discovered he was actually accepted and went through their entire transfer applicant pool to discover five others including myself. Two days later I got the real acceptance letter. With scholarship offers. After orientation and my first week here, I was going over my curriculum with my program advisor who told me I was only one of twelve transfer students to be accepted into Dodge’s Film Production program this Fall 2018. For Freshman the acceptance rate is roughly around 7-8%, but for transfers its around 1-2%. So I’m extremely lucky and fortunate to be here.

To anyone looking to get in, if you have questions feel free to message me.
I was always looking at these forums during application seasons.
Posting this on any post I think it would help.

Cheers.
