Chapman or UCI for Computer Science?

Objectively, which university is better/would lead to greater opportunities in Computer Science/Software Engineering?
I’ve heard many good things about UCI, which is what I’m currently leaning towards, but has anyone here had any positive experiences with Chapman’s CS/SE programs?

I doubt there will be a big difference when it comes to finding a job after school. I’d choose based on things like cost, class size, and if either has particular classes that you’d like to take that the other doesn’t offer. If you’re a California resident, UCI will obviously be cheaper. It will also offer more types of classes. On the other hand, the smaller class sizes at Chapman will work much better for some students.

As the director of the computer science programs at Chapman you can imagine that I have some strong opinions, but in general I’d say that our personalized style of education, opportunities to interact directly with faculty in the classroom and in research, and a strong sense of community among our majors differentiate us the most. Feel free to drop me an email though (linstead at chapman dot edu) and I’d be happy to put you in touch with some of our current computer science majors so you can ask them why they chose to study at Chapman. Also happy to answer any questions you have about our curriculum.

Good luck with the decision making process!
