Chapman social life on weekends - what is it like

We saw the campus during the summer without a lot of students (to be expected). Just curious for an out of state student - what is the social like like at Chapman? Does the campus empty out on the weekends? Party in dorms/campus/houses? Is this a commuter school?

My daughter is a junior there and no it’s not a commuter school, lots of people around on the weekends. In fact, starting with this year’s freshman they are requiring two years on campus living. Parties tend to be in off campus houses not in the dorms, or at restaurant/bars. Very active greek life that busses kids to parties at clubs and such (even under 21’s they just get X’ed on their hands so they can’t buy drinks.

I went to grad school there, and my kids went to school two blocks away for k-8. Unless it’s the summer, something is always going on. The Orange Plaza (aka circle) is full of restaurants, coffee shops, and bars, and it can be hard to find a spot because there are so many Chapman students out. There are lots of Greek parties, and it’s not uncommon to see beer pong and slip and slides set up on the lawns in the surrounding neighborhoods (which is often unappreciated by the residents). Access to uber is easy, and getting around OC to hit the beach, mall, museums, concerts, LA etc. is easy…
