Chapman Transfers for fall 2011

would you guys mine posting your stats and ec (if that is considered)

Thank you OCELITE. You have been very informative. We found out DD was admitted, so she is following up with the school now to get more information on housing and deposits. It turns out package probably was lost. In the process, we learned that it’s not uncommon though for the admission package to follow the FA award because it is bigger and oftentimes arrives later. I tried the facebook, which i don’t use very often, and I found no posts. I’m sure DD will be able to find what she needs. As to the parents, I found some announcements from prior years about meetings in June/July, but I assume we’ll start getting more correspondence once she registers with her deposit. Every college should have someone like you monitoring their CC posts. You do the school a great service.

Have any transfers to Dodge heard yet? I’ve been waiting forever it feels like hahaha

Nothing

I just received my rejection letter from Chapman.

I applied to film production
my gpa is 3.97 with over 90 transferable units.
I’m curious to see if there’s enough room for any production transfers at all. Keep me updated, and good luck!

@Transferparent, You’re welcome. Glad that I’m able to help out in any way. I want to thank you also for posting. DS and I had to find out the info on our own in the past so I thought this can help others. Perhaps any info you find out can also help out others by posting them here and passing it along. I think it would benefit everyone if all the posters out there can monitor their threads that they’ve started so people can access the info and answers. I know we have busy lives, but this is one way we can contribute to help out in any way.

For the new incoming families, you can access more details about timelines through their parents link and go to the left side bar, then click on Info for New Families. You will find timelines for freshmen and transfer students.
Congratulations to all of the new Chapman families! Welcome! Chapman is truly an amazing school! I hope your sons or daughters will enjoy Chapman as much as mine. Chapman is having their 150th birthday celebration today. Join the fun if you live close by! Best wishes!

What does your application status say? I also applied to film production … :S

@lord Jim

I still can’t believe it !!! Your stats are amazing !!! Well definitely this shows how hard it is to be admitted :frowning: I’m sorry Jim … Hope you do get into your other options !!! Good luck !!!

My status says “decision mailed.”
I got an envelope in the mail this afternoon that said I was rejected.
Thanks for the support, and best of luck to you! :)

Anyone else receiving anything yet? Specifically to dodge film production? I’m guessing they are deciding between all the finalist they had and now picking for the amount of spots they have since frosh decision has passed. Hopefully we will find out soon. I’m trying to remember when i heard last year, it might have been June.

@andr3w my stats are just eh, nothing like @lord jim
I have a 3.5 with 64 transferable units. But my resume is what i’ve been focusing. I work at a TV studio now as a director for live broadcasts and i’ve been shooting a lot of videos as you can see here: [Nick Mahar - Reel](Cinematography Reel — Nick Mahar Cinematographer)
Hope that helps.

From my experience last year and my friends that got in as freshmen. It was a lot easier to get in as a frosh and i really wished i applied in high school. Like i said in a previous post. Last year they filled every spot except 1 with frosh so hopefully we dont get screwed over again!

@bayfilm
Nice video. Tight smooth down to the point.:slight_smile: you’re about that I hope most transfers don’t get screwed over again because of the freshmen. Best of luck for you.

Are they doing “decision accepted” for accepted applicants and “decision mailed” for rejected applicants? If so I’m screwed…btw i’m applying to dodge for screenwriting

@pavx45 their doing ‘decision mailed’ either if you got in or not. Like you, I’ve also applied to their screenwriting program. So the wait is nerve racking

My status still says decision pending …

@03ulima

Thank you! :D

Mine still says decision pending and as far as screenwriting, i’ve heard it’s easier to get into. I’ve been told multiple times that production is the hardest and that if you want production you have to be accepted into it. You can’t transfer into it after being accepted for something else.

@bayfilm you’re right about that. One of the Chapman counselors told me I would have a better change getting either into screenwriting or film studies program than production. She was blunt and told me to go elsewhere if I wanted production.

I’m glad to hear that I am not the only one whose decision is still pending for screenwriting… I turned my application in at the beginning of February and it just seems like it’s been forever! Make sure you guys post on here if anything changes!

I don’t know what’s the hold up unless their really reading our samples and picking between who come with the limited spots they have.

@03ulima i think that’s what it is
