Chapman U Office of Admission’s Tumblr website

During this present 2014-2015 college admissions season the Chapman University Office of Admission started a new and very valuable website. I learned about this Tumblr blog website for the first time while reading College Confidential (CC) posts during recent months containing the latest & most reliable information for perspective Chapman U students applying for admissions. For those whom don’t know about this site here is the link to get to it:

<a href="http://chapmanadmission.tumblr.com/">http://chapmanadmission.tumblr.com/</a></p>

As stated on this new website:

“Welcome to the official Tumblr for the Chapman University Office of Admission. Follow us for information about Chapman, the admissions process, living and learning in Southern California, and how you can become a Panther. We also strive to be the best, most comprehensive and interactive admission blog around!”

I want to highly commend the Chapman University Office of Admissions for creating and daily using & updating this new website where they have answered every question presented to them by perspective Chapman U students. These answers are appearing on the same day the questions are asked. Their answers are as clear as possible, accurate and very informative. The perspective students reading this new site (as well as CC posts of course) now know as much as what is going on with the admissions process and status as anyone whom is applying or has been accepted into Chapman U.

Their communications with perspective students are now unparallel to any other College or University that I have ever seen. In past years the only way to get this kind of information was by calling an admission counselor and then sharing the information learned with others on College Confidential (CC) or by CC contributors answering the question asked. Perspective students and their parents were always hesitate to ask too many questions or even to call at all to the Chapman Admissions office for fear it would negatively affect their admissions. Now even the most “dumbest” questions are answered in depth (of course there are no dumb questions). The Chapman Admissions office is now human not like veiled machines that students still have to face at others Universities.

I feel that ideas such as the creation of this transparent admissions’ website is why Chapman U was ranked the #1 Up-and-Coming Regional University (West) in the 2013 and 2014 U.S. News & Report Best Colleges ranking. Let’s all join in with three cheers for Chapman University Office of Admission for thinking outside the box -Hip, hip, hooray!
