Chapman U?

what is chapman university in Cali like? i just kinda ran into it and thought it looked like a match

whats the average stats
is it looked upon as a good school
im not in state...

does anyone know about it?

I live in L.A. and Chapman is pretty nearby... It's a pretty-low key school in the inland part of SoCal, where I guess average-to-OK students usually go. You don't hear much about it going to my high school, though I do know someone who will be attending next year. It's not really considered an out-of-state school. Slightly more selective choices in the vicinity include U. San Diego, Loyola Marymont; them comes Occidental; then the Claremonts.

I hope this helps a little. I don't personally know much about the school, but someone in my class--one of the valedictorians--applied there, I think. I'm not sure if she got in or not. She's going to U of Arizona because they gave her a full ride.

thanks!
does anyone elese know anything about this school!?

Whether Chapman is average or not depends on your major. For example, they have a great film school that offers direct exposure/internships with the industry. They have a lot of strong alumnus that have excelled in business and support the school. You need to research what your are interested in studying. They are a small private so they take a very personal interest in their students. Like a lot of other schools, their student stats are rising each year due to increased competition at higher ranked schools. As far as the campus itself, it is located in Orange, CA. Beautiful campus which is traditional in style. There is lots to do within walking or biking distance of the school. Plenty of cafes and shops near campus. The area is car friendly and you can be at the beach in 20 minutes, downtown LA in 35-75 minutes (depending on traffic), in mountains skiing in two hours, San Diego or Mexico in two hours. Loyola and Pepperdine are right near the beach about 40 miles up the road, so you might check those out if you want to live nearer to the coast.
