I have a UW 4.0 GPA W.4.6 GPA, ASB for 4 Years, Senior Class President, Volunteering @ Kaiser, and I got 1550 on my SAT ( was my first time taking the SAT and i did not study at all)
Im awaiting my results for the last one i just taken, but i actually studied for that one.
However, just in case i dont do better on the SAT what are my chances of acceptance with those stats.
I have a bit of anxiety bc chapman is my #1 school and ive been wanting to go there since my sophomore year

Hey your GPA seems great and you have some great extracurriculars.

Based off what you told me, the statistics of admitted students are as follows (25th percentile/75th percentile):

SAT Critical Reading: 550 / 640
SAT Math: 570 / 660
SAT Writing: 560 / 650

As you can see the SAT scores you mentioned earlier would put you in the lower part of the spectrum, but hopefully you have improved considerably since then. It’s certainly not impossible. The first time I took it in freshman year I got a 1600 something. Let’s just say with actual practice it went up considerably since then XD But yeah, definitely get those scores up (otherwise take the ACT) and you will be a solid candidate.

Alternatively, you could always look into testing optional schools as your grades seem to be quite high.

@shawnspencer yeah im also paying for a 750$ SAT class in July and their program stated that most students who taken their program received a score above 1800.
The next SAT is Sept is the biggest deal for me bc i want to apply for early admission in November.
I do have other colleges ive looked into, but i want to go to chapman the most.
My score was the highest in math. & i want to be a BioChem major. I forgot to mention that previously

Well best of luck to you! Remember they also consider other parts of your application, like ECs and essays, so do a smashing job on those too and you will be fine.

I’m a bit skeptical of your stats. A person with a 4.6 weighted GPA should score at least an 1800 without trying. But I’m not judging, people test different. But if you can get your SAT to at least an 1800, with a perfect unweighted 4.0 GPA and 4.6 weighted you are an absolute yes to Chapman. Your extra curriculars are stellar and I really see no way how Chapman couldn’t accept you. If everything you say above is true then I’d start packing and head down to Orange County :)

Best of Luck

@teamyou lol i obviously wouldn’t lie if i wanted a truthful answer. i recently retook my SAT and got a 1650 but still it isn’t that great! I got a 700 in math which i think is decent but whats messing me up is the writing and reading sections . I always been better at science and math over english, (Which is why i want to major in biomedical) but what sucks is i feel the sat is mostly based on english scores. Its 1/3 of the test
Also never been good at time stuff:p im a slow test taker

@teamyou sorry i meant * 2/3 of the test

Try the ACT since you are better in science and there is a Science section which could boost your Composite score.

Agree w/Gumbymom. Take the ACT. Also, Chapman offers optional personal interviews, and they pay attention to the interviewers’ reports. So, if Chapman is your first choice, be sure to interview, and be sure emphasize your impressive math score.

My S2 is a current Chapman student. His acceptance letter made mention of how much he impressed his interviewer, so I KNOW that helps.
