Hey guys!
Just saw that there wasn't an official thread for those of us who applied to Chapman Early Action for the Fall 2011, so I decided to start one that way we could all have a place to discuss admissions, letters, etc. Good luck everyone!

good luck. You can check out the Dodge thread on here too. There are a bunch of us EA applicants on it because we had to all apply by the early deadline for Dodge.

Thanks! I’ll be sure to check that out; it may be helpful even though I applied as a communications major.

Has anybody heard back from Chapman yet? Do we know an approx. date that EA applicants will get admissions decisions letters?

I had an interview over the phone back in October and I think it went great Really hoping I get in!

I actually called Chapman a few weeks ago because I have not received any information about checking the status of my app online. They said that letters would be going out with this information, but I have yet to get one. Is anyone else having this same problem?

and @norcalimom congrats to your S! I applied to LMU as well, but I was deferred until they receive my 7th semester transcript (first semester of my senior year). Hope everything turns out well for him!

Thank you, nyu. A friend was accepted to LMU last year after being deferred, so good luck. It simply means they review you again along with the regular admissions applicants. If you think of anything additional that might help your chances or even if you can get an additional letter of recommendation, you might want to send that to LMU to have it included in your file. :)

Nyuhopeful, my d also applied EA to Chapman and only got the letter with the webadvisor login and id on Saturday Dec 4. It was mailed a few days before that.

i’m glad to finally see one of these threads for Chapman
i applied EA as a business (finance) major but studying Pre-Med
i’m from az
can’t wait to hear back i also applied to LMU, SDSU, Arizona, Tennessee, and UMiami

I’ve heard of people getting their EA decisions mid-January, but I’m not certain.
Good luck to everyone applying! I applied for Creative Producing w/Dodge College… keeping my fingers crossed!

Nyu:

I did the same thing because I applied on November 10th and hadn’t heard anything or gotten an online login. I got my financial aid package about a week ago, and I got my online login info today. I’m sure yours is on its way as well! Good luck!

Thanks stemar I’ll keep checking the mail!

nyu / stemar: Would you guys mind sharing stats?

January would be great because the waiting is awful. USC will probably be an even longer wait. It feels like such a long wait now, since LMU’s decision was already 2 weeks ago.
I’m visiting Chapman, LMU and USC in a couple weeks over break. Dodge and USC are giving tours over break, but LMU isn’t.

Dodge film hears back in mid-late Feb.

I haven’t gotten login info yet either. Does it come in the mail or email? My admin counselor told me 2 weeks ago yesterday that I should get it in the next 2 weeks…but I didn’t so I sent him an email. We’ll see what he says.

@jjohn42 We received the notice in the mail, postmarked 10/29. I believe that was approximately 2 weeks after my S submitted the application and all the supplemental materials.

Hey guys, I’m also applying for Chapman, LMU, NYU, and USC, all for film. I know we’re talking Chapman, but for those of you who were accepted to LMU, how did you find out? Email? Mail? WebAdvisor equivalent?

hey hayley, I found out both ways. First my status changed to admitted on the MyLMU, MyPAW (WebAdvisor equivalent). Then I received a packet in the mail. Actually, the packet arrived the same day my status changed online, so they obviously had already sent the packets out before they updated the status online. My packet was postmarked 11/22.

Thanks tzfilm. I never logged in to MyLMU. For some reason, I can’t change the password. It says something about the AD not being available… I emailed admissions. Hope this doesn’t mean I was rejected ><

And I’ve heard USC will take a very long time for film haha. One of the reps even said April to me.

Heshing, my D also applied to the Creative Producing pgm. If I understand the EA process right, I think you are right and EA will hear by Jan 15, except for Film Production (which is not the same as Creative Producing).

Non-Dodge EA applicants should find out around mid-to-late January.
