my web advisor says decision mailed, does anyone know what that means?

@dsprunk, from the “Chappenings:” link posted by heshing:

For those of you who have read message boards, etc discussing our WebAdvisor statuses, know that it’s going to change a bit this year. For the remainder of the year, when a ‘final decision’ is reached, the WebAdvisor status bar will read “Decision Mailed.” This means that your decision is complete and we will place it in the mail as soon as we can. Remember that your packet needs to be made, your letter printed, the packet sent to our mailing room, then it hits the post office so this process could take a little while. Unfortunately our protocol is to not give admission decisions over the phone so unfortunately we won’t be able to disclose that over the phone.

Accepted today to Public Relations/Advertising with a $20K scholarship!!!

My stats are ACT:29
GPA: 3.8UW/4.2W

@bigmamabear so they aren’t saying if i’m in or not…i have to wait for the mail?? :(

@dsprunk I think you can be encouraged. Rejections are generally the last decisions mailed out. :)

@dsprunk, some applicants on the forums have said their statuses changed to “Admissions Approved” before changing to “Decision Mailed”. Perhaps you missed checking Webadvisor when it said something in the interim before changing to “Decision Mailed”, or it just went directly to “Decision Mailed”, I don’t know. Bottom line is, Dodge says they are not in charge of the Webadvisor status changes, but rather Admissions is. Admissions might still be trying to settle on some admissions processing protocol… Very confusing, sorry if this answer does not help you any. But at least you know something is in the mail. :)

congrats klly!
hopefully ill get my letter this week too

Accepted w/ chancellor’s scholarship (20k a year).

32 ACT
3.8 UW/3.95 W

Okay so here is a story about applying to chapman, tell me what you guys think it means.

I had been emailing a woman from admissions about my act scores, because the scores my webadvisor said to have received were my lower ones. A couple days later, Michael Drummy (Head of Admissions) emailed me back saying:
(I’m from Hawaii and Seabury Hall is my HS)

Aloha Sydney,
We received your transcript and test score report from Seabury Hall, and we have noted your higher Stest scores in your file. What concerns me more is the C on your transcript, but I will do my best for you with the admin board and the PR/Advertising people.

Is he saying he is vouching for me, or are things not looking to good.

Applied early for PR/Ad

thank you norcalimom and bigmamabear… keep my fingers crossed, i applied as pre- med health sciences program… not the norm for chapman, but i fell absolutely in love with it. good luck to everyone!

My status has changed to decision mailed today! I applied to Creative Producing in Dodge so it looks like Dodge applicants (other than Film Production) will be finding out if they are in or not fairly soon!

KollegeKat before it said decision mailed did it say decision complete or admissions approved?

sydneygoose: I think he is saying that he will inform the admissions board that you are very interested in the university. A lot of people apply to colleges but only a minority of these people have a school as their top choice. I think your concern has brought to their attention that you are one of those students heavily considering Chapman.

Either way his message appears to be encouraging. It’s not going to make your admission consideration worse, only better.

@sydney I agree with klly completely and would only add that the comment about the “C” was included to prepare you and soften the blow should they not admit you. It was a way to balance the email, so as not to get your hopes up too much. Admissions people go to great lengths to not tip their hand either way to students, but I think that your interested and enthusiasm will be relayed and can only help your situation. Good luck!

Does anyone know if Chapman has a special day for admitted students to come and see the campus? I know they had Chapman preview day but I wasn’t able to come to that. Also, to anyone that has visited, is the campus large or is it small enough where everything is mostly close together?

@sydneygoose I agree with the above. Don’t read too much into it - if anything, your chances have probably improved with your test scores :)

WebAdvisor is still not working for me - and today’s MLK day so the HelpDesk isn’t open. I guess I can’t check my status until tomorrow…

Also, @mere24, I’m fairly sure they have something in April. I’m not sure, though.

Congrats to everyone who got in, though!

@dsprunk, guess what? My D’s status on Webadvisor JUST changed from “Decision Pending” right to “Decision Mailed”! Now no one in the family wants the job of checking the physical mailbox…

Thanks for the help everyone
Did anyone here apply to U of San Diego EA too?
And in your opinion, which school is harder to get into?

I didn’t apply to U of San Diego…hehe. I applied to LMU, Emerson, BU, SUNY Purchase, Northeastern, Mizzou, U of Wisconsin - Madison, U of Miami (in Florida), MSU and, of course, Chapman.

But I finally got into my account! The decision is mailed as of the 13th of January…although we didn’t get mail today or yesterday. I have two finals tomorrow and am probably getting my decision - that’s gonna suck. I really don’t know where I stand with this school.

Mine says decision mailed on january 6 yet i don’t have anything
