Chapman University EA Applicants

I am so sorry, sydneygoose.

You could try for a transfer in 1 year - they only require 30 units to transfer and it usually increases your odds of getting in. It’s a very competitive major. That sucks. :(

what was your stats and what major did you apply to again sydneygoose?

Sydneygoose, I’m sorry :frowning: I got my first rejection letter not too long ago from University of Miami, so I know what it feels like. I agree with SamuraiLandshark though, Dodge is a very competitive program and since Chapman is known for Dodge, it is also an incredibly popular program. Hopefully you’ll get into other schools though that will be a better fit for you. If not, if you really truly have your heart set on attending Chapman, don’t give up. You can always ask for an appeal or attend another school and then transfer.

Good luck with everything, I really hope you can find a way to work it out:)

So i just saw that my status changed to mailedd. I didnt think i’d hear back til early march. Is this a good or bad thing? Do they normally send out rejection letters at this timee? I’m so nervous i kind of want to cryy!!! ahhhh

yeah i just got mine mailled alsoo im so nervous let me know what the news isss

I am so sorry SydenyGoose. That sucks. :frowning: But you know what eveything happens for a reason. You were just meant to go somewhere else. It happens to the best of us.

I’m still waiting for my status to switch to “mailed.”
I’m worried since my status was last updated on December 4th, that’s a long time ago! Should I contact Chapman in some way?
Also, can anyone shed some light on why some applications might be taking longer? Is it because they send out acceptances first?

Very, very nervous…

@hayleyh
I don’t know if this is how every school does it but I didn’t hear back till January 28th from USD and the deadline for telling EA applicants was Jan 31st so I assumed I was rejected but I got in so don’t jump to any conclusions about why your decision is later than others!

@Hayleyh, I hope not! I’m still waiting for my decision as well and my status hasn’t changed since Dec 9th when it became “file complete, decision pending”. But I agree with Mere24, I heard back from USD very late as well and I was deferred, while I heard back the first day U Miami sent out their letters and I was rejected. I think it depends on the school, but it doesn’t seem like most schools send out their acceptance letters, deferrals, and rejections in batches based on the decision so for now I’m still hopeful.

hey guys,
I just heard back that I’ve been deferred  … wow I guess they were right when they said they were so backed up that they would be sending out early action decsions as late as early March.

did they say anything about RD?

Hey juicy,

If you look at the third topic down (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/chapman-university/1073989-chapman-university-regular-decision-applicants-c-o-2015-a.html</a>), anna says “Only 13 days left until we start hearing back, guys!!! I can’t take it!”. So I am guessing RD will start to hear back in 13 days.

Best wishes,
Warehouse.

For the people who got merit scholarships,
did you have to apply to them or did the school just decide based on your application to award you them?
Please help!

annathatshibby: An additional application is not needed. They tell you how much merit scholarship money you are awarded in your acceptance letter.

Sweet. Thanks heshing. Anxiously awaiting that letter!

Good luck and congrats to everyone!

For those who live near Chapman/in CA, how many days were in between the day a decision was mailed out from Chapman and the day you received your letter?

We live very close- about 15 minutes away. My son’s status changed to Decision mailed around the 19th or 20th; On Monday I could access the financial aid package online (so you might want to check that), on Saturday he received the financial aid package. Yesterday he called and inquired about the acceptance package, and they told him it was in the mail…so it sounds like they are sort of inundated in admissions, and you might have to wait a bit to get the package.

I applied EA and got in sometime in January - I also got a Chancellor’s Scholarship, which was nice! My stats are good, but not great, so this was a nice surprise.

GPA: 3.83
SAT: 2030
ACT: 31

Sweet. Congrats sophistikated!
