Chapman University or Point Loma Nazarene University?

What do you guys think about either of these? I've been highly considering both of them and not sure which one would be better.

I’m from Southern Cal, and I would say that Chapman is better known and respected. Frankly, I bet many in Calif have never heard of Point Loma.

Another good thing about Chapman is that it is a FAFSA only school and meets need. that is a rare thing! :)

Thank you. I am from the east coast and plan on visiting Chapman sometime this year. Do you know about how far Chapman is from Los Angeles and about the town/city the school is located in?

Point Loma is right on the beach, so if you are a surfer, you can easily walk there from your dorm room. I have worked with a couple of interns from Point Loma, and they were quite intelligent.

Chapman is probably like an hour to L.A., depending on which part of LA you’re talking about. It is in the city of Orange, right in Old Town by the Orange Circle. It’s got shops and restaurants nearby, pretty cool place I think.

Yes…Chapman is in Orange County (the county where Disneyland is).

Chapman is located in a beautiful part of OC and not far from the beaches.

Is there a reason why you’re asking how close it is to LA? If you’re asking for flight purposes, you’d be flying into John Wayne Airport (SLA) not LAX.

What is your major?

I visited Chapman a few weeks ago. It’s in a quiet part of OC and looks pretty nice. It would be a great place for undergrad. It took me about 45 minutes to get there from LAX.

But, again, no one needs to fly into LAX to get to Chapman U. John Wayne Airport (SLA) is very closeby…like 15 minutes away.

John Wayne Airport is actually SNA…but yeah, it’s really close to Chapman, and for someone coming in from out-of-state, definitely more convenient than flying into LAX…

very helpful info, thanks. i plan on majoring in broadcast journalism and i just thought LA would be a great place for interships when the time came. Also, i love being in the center of a huge city and all the action that comes with it. However, i think the town Chapman is in would be just as good because I was looking for the beach atmosphere as well.
