I am having a bunch of trouble with this...ok so, as of now i think im going to be a physical therapist. Being that i live in California, im having trouble deciding what college to go to. I am think of going to csulb or Chapman but honestly its all coming down to a matter of money. i got a scholarship from chapman for 20000 a year for 4 years, however overall still have to pay 40000 a year. if i go to csulb it will only be about 25000 a year, which sounds better monetarily but there are many other things that i need to know.

Is going to chapman really worth the money?
is it better somehow?
ive been to the campus and it is pretty nice but i dont know enough about the academics to really make an informed decisions.
are the classes smaller with more attention to the students as opposed to CSULB?
i know that CSULB is a pretty big school and i want to know if there is going to be a big difference in the education because of it. are the classes sizes much larger? and i also have to worry about the fact that i may not get the classes i want because they are impacted, so i may have to graduate later, while at chapman theres no worry of that.
so what should i do??

What are your parents saying? How much will they pay? If they won’t pay Chapman’s price, then it’s a non-issue.

*if i go to csulb it will only be about 25000 a year, *

If you’re economical, you can probably spend less than this at The Beach.

If you pay attention to registration times, don’t drop classes, be willing to take a class or two at a non-preferred time, you should be able to graduate on time.

Will you be coming in with any AP credits?

Hello,
I heard both schools are great. However, if money is a factor. Then definitely CSULB. No need to get yourself into a pile of debt for undergraduate degree if it will only served as a pathway to apply into a doctorate program of some sort. The DPT program is hightly competitive and will cost roughtly another $150k plus easily. Also, you’ve mentioned that it would cost about $25k to attend CSULB vs. $40k to Chapman. If you’re referring to undergraduate and CA resident, the tuition fee should only cost you about $7k at CSULB and a hefty $42k at Chapman. If you’re getting a scholarship for $20k at Chapman, you can expect to pay $22k per year at Chapman. Our son received a $25k scholarship annually at Chapman and has about 35 units of college courses credit already. Nonetheless, we’re still debating which route is best for him financially. We’re still waiting to hear back for CSULB for the President Scholarship. As he also agrees that if he gets the free $$$ from CSULB, he will go there and apply the saved college fund towards his doctorage program.
