Chapman v LMU

If anyone can help me that would be awesome. I live in Florida and don't have the means to travel out west to visit the campuses so I am relying on websites for information. Which school is better for film? Which school has a more active social scene? Thank you

Chapman is better for film... but I think LMU is better overall and has a great campus community.

I should have applied to LMU too... and ya LuckyLady the one good thing about LMU is that it's in LA, but Orange is still pretty nice. If you want to go to a better film school go to Chapman, but if you're looking for a more active social scene I'd say go to LMU

Well one thing I am worried about is the religious affiliations at both schools. Does anyone know if there is any required religion classes or required church attendings? I am atheist and so I want to know if that will have a big impact on my experience at either school.

Oh also, is the social life at Chapman really that bad compaired to LMU? Would I notice a major difference between the two? I know it is impossible to come up with a definate answer but just if I can know what you guys have heard about the school that would be great.

I'm pretty sure Chapman isn't as religious as LMU. This knowledge is just based off what my friend said. My friend said Chapman didn't even seem like it had a religious affiliation.

And while LMU's social scene is more active, Chapman is great too. Within 15 min of Chapman you could go to Huntington Beach, Newport, Laguna Beach, Disney Land, Knotts Berry Farm, hundreds of malls, and all of LA is about 30min away. There is no way you could get bored at Chapman.

And Chapman's film school is stronger. However, if I was deciding between the two I would definitely choose LMU because I really love it.

ya Chapman isn't really religious at all, no worries lucky lady i'm agnostic and if there was any sort of religious requirement i wouldn't like that either... while LMU may be more fun, Chapman has a lot more credibility in the film industry because they know it's really good. i was at Fox studios monday (my teacher knows a producer) and i told him i was going to chapman for production and he said "wow chapman is a really good school we have a lot of people coming into Fox from chapman" (chapman has a lot of connections with the industry) they also have teachers that have come from AFI and USC

toured chapman today... no way I'd ever go there over LMU. way uncool. even on full scholarship i wouldnt go. no offense intended towards anyone who likes the school.

Well I was just looking at studentsreview.com and about 75% of students said they are happy with their choice of attending Chapman and less than 50% said that about LMU. I don't know how reliable that is tho...

i talked to someone on my plane flight to chicago and they had a good friend who went to chapman (for volleyball) and she loved it apparently.
i mean Chapman may not be that fun, and not in LA, but it is really really pretty, i dunno what was that bad about it wing... but your'e going to NYU right? Chapman is more credible than LMU, remember this is just college, you want to make the choice that is best for your career... lol
