Hi, can someone help me choose between these three schools? I want to go into the entertainment industry/communications and I can’t tell which school would be the best for me to be have the brightest future in that field. I got around the same amount of money from all of them so that’s not really a factor. These are the majors I was admitted to at each school:
Chapman: Creative Producing
UF: Telecommunications
UMiami: Motion Picture Arts - Production
I’m leaning towards Chapman but I’m not sure how good of a school it is compared to the other two. Thank you!
Chapman is very strong in the arts, film, etc. Also, being in LA can’t hurt for networking, internships, etc.
@rickle1 @mel098 While Chapman is very strong in the arts and film, it’s in downtown Orange, CA. Not a lot happening and not an easy trek to LA even though I’m sure there are many LA connections for internships, etc. Mileage wise you’d think so, but you’d be looking at at least an hour in constant traffic to get to LA at any given time any day of the week.
Don’t know much about Chapman but it is a smaller school on west coast that seems to have many fans and some really strong programs. California is attractive in general for many people and uniquely connected with the entertainment industry.
Miami and UF are both very selective research universities.
Miami, as compared to UF, is a smaller private school. 10k undergrads. Beautiful Coral Gables location and campus. Great academics and a diverse group from around the country and South America. Really a very strong school. Greek life and socially a fun place. Great law shcool fwiw.
UF is a premier public flagship. #8 usnwr public uni in country. 35k undergrad students. Mostly Floridians and super strong oos students. Big time college sports. Top notch academics. Super strong alumni network in Florida and growing national reputation. Really excellent in all majors. Also has a significant med, law and grad school spillover in a positive way.
