Chapman Vs. USD

Chapman or University of San Deigo...any opinions?

I think USD is a better school. I have friends who go to both schools. Chapman is pretty overrated. They accept a lot of very mediocre students who are willing to pay full tuition. If you are very wealthy and like the OC atmosphere, then Chapman would be a better choice.

Oh ok, thanks!!

Any more opinions please?
The more to help me the better...
I've visited both schools and I'm still completely stuck!

What exactly are you majoring in?

I'm undecided, but I'm looking to possibly major in theatre

for theatre chapman is deffiantly better. as an overall school usd is slightly better. both are decent schools which are known to have a wealthy student population. i dont know if id say of you are wealthy and like the wealthy atmosphere go to chapman. if anything usd has more of a wealthy atmosphere and such than chapman does. usd deffiantly has more of that rep than chapman. i grew up in oc and went to college in san diego (ucsd), and i love both areas. however in my opinion, san diego is quite possibly the best place to go to college in the country. the city of san diego is absolutely wonderfull. chapmans campus is also very pretty however and old town orange is very quaint and nice. chapmans theatre department is absolutely top notch along with their film department. tough choice. i recomend visiting both campuses and then making up your mind. usd's campus is deff something to look at. its beautiful. have fun choosing. go visit both before making up your mind. best of luck!

IMO, USD is the better school. I don't really know a ton about Chapman though, although the couple of kids I know that go there are decent students and extremely wealthy (as a previous poster said.) You will get your fair share of rich kids at USD, but it seems like most have them have actually earned their way into the school. That doesn't seem to be the case at Chapman, although my perceptions could be off.

Chapman announced a few days ago that it will be forming a College of Performing Arts that includes the departments of music, dance and theatre. You can read the announcement at their website. It looks like over the next 5 years they will be taking performing arts to the level they took film.

are decent.. and full of snooty rich kids
