I like Chapman a lot, but I do not like that US News doesn't have them in their top rankings: Universities and Liberal Arts. Instead, they are ranked on the regional universities. The admissions rate is less that half, but that may be just because a lot of people apply because it's in a great location.

I am worried about what could happen if I went to Chapman for my future. I want to get a liberal arts degree (does their liberal arts program have a separate admissions rate?) and then eventually get an MBA at a top business schools. I am aiming very high. I would like to graduate college with a 3.8 GPA or higher, a very good GMAT score, get a lot of work experience, then go to a top tier Business School (Stanford, Wharton, Harvard, U Chicago Booth, Northwestern Kellogg, etc...) Would this school set me up for what I am looking for ?

Thank you.

Hi Marshall,

If we are to advise you on what University to attend please tell us about yourself:

GPA (weighted and unweighted), SAT and or ACT scores & ECs and any Awards you received.

@sukahjoy: I am not worried about getting in (well I am, but this isn’t what this post is about.) I am just making an inquiry of what people do after Chapman, whether anyone makes it down the path I wish to go (Top tier MBA.) Thanks!

Dear Marshall,

“GPA: 3.8 Unweighted (Top 10% of Class)
-SAT/ACT: Haven’t taken yet. Based on my practice scores, it is safe to assume a 1900 on the SAT and a 30 on the ACT, possibly more.”

Guessing what your SAT or ACT test results are before you take the test is delusional and a waste of everyone’s time. The results would help show if you should go to Stanford U or your local Junior College.

FYI: I am pretty sure you cannot get into Claremont McKenna College with a low SAT score of 1900.

If you are interested in learning about Chapman U there are many posts on the subject that I am sure you can find if you just look at the posts on this site over the past year.

Good luck on your path.

Hi Marshall,

If you are a Junior why did you say you have been on Varisty for 4 years?

Your statement:

-GPA: 3.8 Unweighted (Top 10% of Class)
-SAT/ACT: Haven’t taken yet. Based on my practice scores, it is safe to assume a 1900 on the SAT and a 30 on the ACT, possibly more.

-Sports: Soccer (All 4 years of varsity, and I’m a D1 recruit. Also the captain of the team with two awards [Bob Marley award and MVP.] I also play travel soccer above my age level with 2 state league titles and top scorer. I will send the coach a video of my playing and will be in communication.) Tennis (All 4 years of varsity.)

I apologize for my words that I used because of this misunderstanding. There have been previous posts where students have stated an expected SAT or ACT score without taking the test; which is a waste of everyones time. Please let us know Marshall when you get actual SAT & ACT results back so that we can be of significant help to you in your college choice.

Marshall,

Since you are still a junior it would be good for you to spend some time now thinking about and deciding on a major that is most closely aligned to what you want to do in life as part of this liberal arts education that you want to pursue. Along with you SAT & ACT results knowing this major will be of great help to you in knowing which colleges to apply to.

Thanks guys! And sukahjoy I am just positive I will be playing all 4 years, I love soccer!

Do you have any idea what you would want to as a profession? Like many schools, Chapman would be a good feeder for some industries and not a good feeder for others. You are probably close to 10 years away from enrolling in an MBA program and the world will be a different place in 2022.

I currently don’t know what I want to do for a profession. Possibly Chief Financial Officer in a business or something along the lines of that.

@flyaround: Do you think Chapman is a good Business School feeder?
