Applying for 9th grade, and wondering how many opted to submit a character snapshot? Do they help with admission?
I didn’t take it yet, I’m pretty sure they only look at it as a supplement. If it’s good then it can help you, if it isn’t then it won’t help you (and might hurt you). It’s probably not a make or break, and schools know a test isn’t the best way to determine a personality.
Will not be submitting, got a few emerging and some developing - none under demonstrating!
I wonder if anyone got very high “scores” from Character Snapshot?
DD just got 5 demonstrating and 2 developing. Is this considered good?
that is very good =0
@pearlescentrose thanks! I have no idea how to interpret the results. They are not numerical.
My son took it but I didn’t think they represented him very well. We didn’t submit.
Our daughter had 4 demonstrating and 3 developing. I heard from an advisor who sees lots of these (not an AO at one of the schools though) that this was a good result. We are submitting it. I don’t expect it to make much of a difference if any. But it certainly won’t hurt.
When we went through this process last year, we worked with an educational consultant, and he urged us to submit it without seeing the results.
DC did not do bad, I guess( several demonstrating and no emergin) but we wont submit it because we wont submit SSAT. Our concern is that schools might think if Character Snapshot was taken so was SSAT, if not submitting SSAT then student scored low on SSAT.
