Characterize Yale's Student Body

Ok..posted this in the princeton forum
I'm debating whether to rank Princeton or Yale number 1 for Qbridge...I love both schools...but don't really know to much about the student's there so...

How would you characterize Yale's Student Body?
Who is the typical Yale Student?
What is the campus " vibe?"

bump 10 char

Quirky and willing to go outside of his/her own comfort zone. The vibe I get (and hoped to find) from fellow students, campus publications, class offerings etc is that we tend to try and meet the outside world rather than withdraw into an academic bubble.

It's an incredibly social and energetic campus to a degree I don't think you'll find at Princeton (and certainly not Harvard). If you want a more quiet atmosphere and extremely driven students, Yale might not be for you - but if you, on the other hand, like to be around people that are passionate, that take time for political causes or their juggling practice in addition to schoolwork and friends, and are willing to talk to anyone they meet along the way, this will definitely be the place to find them.

Just look at the freshman welcome speech this year - it urged the incoming class not to prioritize income over happiness; another example, the credit/fail system, which is explicitly there to encourage students to experiment and try on something completely different for a size.

It's the vibe that makes it. I've heard a lot of great things about Princeton, but Yale is absolutely the punkrocker of the Ivy League. If Harvard is where fun goes to die, this is where it comes to live it up.

Agree with the spirit of that, frrph. Yale's campus is definitely more vibrant than its peers. It is buzzing with activity 24/7. I'm not sure that the students are necessarily that different, but the way that they socialize certainly is. This from an impartial observer who has spent a lot of time at all the top 25 unis.
