Charley Wootan Grant 2012-13

Just wanted to let everyone know my son received his letter this morning, our mail comes very early. He received the full grant amount of $4,000. We mailed his application via Express mail the first day the grant was open. Also, we live outside Texas.
I provided these details because I know some of you would probably wonder, I don’t wish to disclose our EFC or finances though.

I hope everyone gets good news in the next few days!!

I forgot to add if you are a recipient you have to sign a release form and mail it back along with either your financial aid award letter, fall tuition bill OR a schedule of your fall classes.

My son received his award today in the mail - $3200!! I am so so happy. I mailed everything off via express mail the first day. His EFC is approximately $2700. The input everyone contributed on this thread is much appreciated.

Anyone have experience with going to a school not listed on the SAR that was sent in with the app?

Has anyone from Texas gotten the letter?

I’m wondering the same thing. It’s weird because I haven’t heard of any of my Texas friends who applied getting anything yet.
Crossing my fingers it’s this week sometime!

Texas resident here! Sent it first day using priority mail and nothing so far. Hoping I get it… :(

Ok, I got my letter today!!! I am a Texas resident. I sent my application the first day using regular mail (didn’t even think about using express smh) and I have been (im)patiently waiting since. I applied last year but didn’t send my info until two days after the scholarship opened (school informed us late) so I didn’t recv anything. My letter is dated July 12, and says I have until August 4th to reply. I was awarded $4000.00 and my EFC is 0. I am semi nervous now though because I applied listing one school, but I am going to another and I know that changing your school can result in less or no money. The reason I didn’t list the correct school is because I hadn’t been accepted as of yet. I got accepted right after I sent my info. Has anyone else had to do this in the past? What were your results?

I got mine today! I’m from Texas. I got $2,150 with an EFC of $2,780

tamuc2012 - May I ask what part of Texas you are from?

amk11b - May I ask what part of Texas you are from and what day did you send it in and whether you did it via express or not.

I’m from West Texas. I sent it the first day by regular mail.

Congrats tamuc2012 & amk11b! Good luck everyone else!

Does anyone live in Alabama, Missisippi, Lousisiana, Florida, or Georgia? If so, have you received a letter yet?

Robert18 I’m in Dallas.

Thanks slebsn13 and congrats to you as well!!!

Yes good luck everyone!

Rec’d our letter on yesterday (Monday, 07/16). Sent in the application on the first day that the scholarship was opened. EFC 525 and my son was awarded 3950. We live in Dallas, Tx.

Has anyone on the west coast recieved anything? I’m in Eugene, OR and have yet to receive anything yet:( I sent my application via overnight express mail but it was the 2nd day the application opened because I was emailed the information late from my community college.

Has anyone from NJ gotten their letters yet? Or east coast in general???
