So by the responses, it appears that the bulk of the funds are going to extremely low to zero EFC. My son’s EFC is approx 5600 so I guess we probably won’t get anything.

I live in Maryland. I sent application on the first day which was tuesday april 17. They received it on April 20. I have an EFC of 0. Still have not received anything yet.

Any good newS from Houston, Texas? I’m still waiting…

So I am from a suburb of Chicago. I sent it in on the first day (at the post office too!) and my EFC is 0. Has anyone from the Chicago/Midwest area received anything yet?

Apparently I wasn’t looking hard enough because I just went through mail from a few days ago and discovered my notification letter. I’m a Houston area resident with an EFC of about 800. I received a $3950 grant!

It looks as if they may have sent the Texas grants out first since a lot of memebers have stated that they received their grants already who live in Texas.

Furore what did the envelope look like? did it say woo tan on here, I’m from houston and didn’t receive anything yet

The letter came in a regular white envelope. In the top corner it read something like “Scholarship Management Services.”

So I applied and I’m from TX…i’m guessing that i didn’t receive the grant since everybody else got their award letter already :/

keep your hope up til jul 31st

Has anyone from the San Antonio area and anywhere south gotten anything?

Yeah, any news from south Texas?

Anything from the Pac NW?!?! Or anywhere aside from TX for that matter???

Nope JESSMO. I live in MD and no news. I believe that they may have sent out the Texas letters first since it is mostly a texas program.

From San Antonio…we have not heard anything, but then again, my son had an EFC of over 5000.

I guess whoever hasnt recieved anything by now didn’t get it?

I applied from Huntsville, Texas–but my residence is in Houston, and I haven’t received anything yet. I applied the first day the application opened but it was via regular mail. Should have used express! Not going to give up hope until the end of the month though. I really needed this. Definitely will have to increase my loan amount if it doesn’t come through. Life.

I sent the application through my campus post office. I’m starting to think that they sent it out late.

I’m a teacher in Dallas, and I took 10 applications for my high school seniors at 8:30 am the first day but we used regular mail. No news yet for any of them. A former student already in college at TAMU in College Station and her brother received their letters though. . .

It’s a little annoying because they specifically said express mail wasn’t necessary when sending in our application for the grant. Now I feel like that is the single thing that inhibited me from receiving it. Considering I sent mine in from Chicago area, it must’ve taken longer to get there and they probably were done taking applications by the time mine got there. Good to know for next year, I’m just very disappointed for this year, though.

My daughter sent her application in the first day via regular mail from College Station and has heard nothing yet. My son (who had a higher EFC) sent his in the second day from Victoria Tx. via regular mail and received a letter on Monday July 16. Sounds like luck of the draw once the applications are received.
