Cheap Beginning-of-Summer programs?

I'm really into the whole government/politics/art/marine biology thing, and I would love to spend the first half of my summer doing something that has to deal with that. My parents refuse to spend too much money during the summer (and I have no chance for financial aid), and I've already spent $2400 on debate camps (starting July 21, so any camp I'm looking for needs to be earlier than that), so I'm wondering if there are any good precollege programs, internships, etc that I can apply to that are less than $2000 for more than 2 weeks.

EDIT: and oh yeah, the Page programs are out of the question. No senator or US rep has the ability to nominate one in PA.

Isun -- just a note about the Page program. It doesn't have to be a senator from your state. If you are really interested, contact a senator or representative that does have the abilitiy to nominate. Some kids are well connected and others just ask the right people at the right time.

Not to mention the scandal that only just died down (well, i'm in dc, so it might have been overplayed around here) I heard rumors the program was being canceled. Maybe untrue?
