Cheap bus: NYC to Baltimore?

I will be visiting some East Coast schools next week (I'm staying in New York). I would like to see JHU and take a quick peek at Baltimore. I notice there is a "Chinatown" type bus that makes a stop in Baltimore. It leaves you at "5400 O'Donnell Street Cutoff". I took the bus once from DC to NYC, and I remember it making this stop, which seemed in a somewhat suburban, next-to-highway location. Short of someone picking you up, can you get into the city or to JHU from there using public transport? Also, how do you get from downtown Baltimore (say, Harbor Area) to the JHU campus by public transport?

Any other tips you have for getting to NYC cheaply? The train is too expensive for me, unfortunately.

While both Megabus and BOLTBUS typically cost 20$ each way, better deals can sometimes be found on Megabus. However, it lets off at White Marsh Mall. With the BOLTBUS, you are let off at Penn Station just a dozen or so blocks south of campus. Walk one block (across the station) and you’re at the JHMI shuttle that you can ride up to campus free of charge.

BOLTBUS, final answer.

BoltBus for sure.

Thanks for your tips – hopefully I’ll be able to swing thru Baltimore to take a look at JHU next week!
