Cheap Motels/Hotels around Campus

Do you all know of any cheap hotels around campus for Reception Day?

anyone? 10char

It's NYC, there isn't much in the way of cheap hotels in the city. maybe over the bridges in Jersey. Or you can find a nice park bench :)

Manhatten does not have motels-OR-inexpensive hotels. Some hotels do give a NYU or college vistors rate.

I guess you have to ask yourself, "What is cheap?"

The best deal I found was Club Quarters down around Wall Street. If you book through one of those cheap online outfits, like those listed here (hotels.com is the cheapest here, I think):

It's still not exactly cheap, but it's great value for the money. The rooms are very nice if a bit small (it's NYC). Most only have one queen size bed, but they have some rooms with an additional sofa-bed.

thanks :)

you can probably go on orbitz or something...i live in the NY area so that's not really concern but i was looking at hotels and you can probably get something fairly cheap if you're willing to share a bathroom and live in a hostel type thing...which is really shady. :-(

I stayed at one of those hostel type places around MSG a year ago. It wasn't bad at all, and each room was decorated in a different theme. I sayed in a room with Buddha. If you're going by yourself, that would work. If parents are coming along... uhhh, No.

The Washington Square Hotel is located right on campus, and it's a small, reasonably priced boutique hotel with rooms that include a continental breakfast.

There is no cheap housing. The best i can think of is wash square hotel. Or was there something called hayden hotel? not sure. I know the hilton or marriot uptown was like 250 a night, might be more expensive in the summer
