Cheap online classes at accredited college

I am looking for cheap English (or any other art) courses at an accredited college that ideally costs no more than 200 dollars per semester credit to transfer back to my 4 year university. Any recommendations? Thanks!

One option:

Right on budget for OOS/international at $200/credit:

My kid took two semesters of a class (not English, however) online from Richland and had a good experience.

Curious if anyone else has any suggestions?

How can any of us know what the OP’s college will accept? College’s are under no obligation to accept credits from a random institution… unless it’s from a specific community college where there is a clearly spelled out articulation agreement, and the student meets all the criteria.

True. OP can figure that out, I suppose. I was more curious if anyone could get under $200/credit. We’re OOS and were lucky enough to stumble upon Dallas College for my DC22—tuition there is cheaper than in-state at our own CCs. :woman_shrugging:t2:

Try these lists:

From USNWR, it lists 4 colleges that are under $200/credit hours.

  • Middle Georgia State University at $113/credit hour
  • Valdosta State University (GA) at $183/credit hour
  • Louisiana Tech University at $185/credit hour
  • University of West Georgia at $191/credit hour

This list mentions some additional possibilities. I’ve listed the ones that had the credit hour price on the main page (that fit the budget), but there were other colleges that didn’t list it on the main description but that may also qualify:

  • Great Basin College (NV) at $159.50/credit hour
  • Brigham Young (ID?) at $156/credit hour
  • Aspen University at $150/credit hour
  • Georgia Southwestern State Universit at $182/credit hour
  • University of the Cumberlands (KY) at $199/credit hour

I would definitely verify the accreditation and the transferability to your own college, but this list is hopefully a start.

I took a course in WINTER at this community college at $100/credit hour ($300 for 3 credit classes in total), but they do not offer such low-cost courses in summer, which is why I came here to ask this question.
Seems like CC always thwart me to include links. The link is www dot ntcc dot edu slash intersession.

If you guys might want to take course in winter, this is a good choice. I can’t find any accredited college with lower cost.

Since you took this course at Northeast TX CC, are you instate TX? If not, what state?

If you are instate TX, Dallas College is $135/credit. If you’re in district Dallas, it’s $79/credit.
