Cheap out-of-state colleges

I, too, hate when colleges post their “per semester” costs…it can be so confusing.

people see the 12-18 credits and think oh that’s what I’ll be taking so, that’s my price. Forgetting that over one year, they will be taking 24-30+ credits.

Anyway…stonecutter…which state schools are near your home that you could commute to?

If there aren’t any schools with engineering that you can commute to, then you’re going to have to talk to your parents about them taking out a Plus Loan to help cover their EFC. If they WANT you to go to college, then they need to help out with this.

VSU’s student finances web page indicates that total costs for a Viriginia resident is approximately $7,600 PER SEMESTER.

yes, we figured that out a few posts ago.

No, that’s not quite right. It’s more like seeing a cheap plane fare and finding out that that’s literally only for half of the trip; if you only pay that much, the flight attendants shove you out of the airlock halfway across the Atlantic Ocean at exactly the midpoint of your flight.

(I mean, how many people really room and board at a college for just one semester at a time. Probably not enough to justify breaking up the costs like that, as if most people are going to be trying to pay that much.)

Brigham Young

It’s not that cheap for non-Mormons.
