Cheap Places to get a haircut on or near UCLA?

I'm looking to spend around 30-40 dollars (I'm female). I'm in dire need of a trim, and I'm a bit afraid to try Campus Cuts based on the horror stories...any other options?

I don’t usually get haircuts in westwood but I’ve had good experiences at Oakleys. Its around $15 dollars for a guy including tip so gauge accordingly. (Apparently that’s normal for American barbershops…I normally go to Vietnamese $10 places haha)

^ Lol, me too. (Female though). The OC, land of cheap haircuts.

I’ve had only one experience with haircuts in Westwood. I think it was Freddy & Liana. (I found them using yelp.com) To be quite honest, it was OKAY. Paid about $20 for just a haircut (layers with same length while bangs trimmed). I got this Russian lady, who actually made me stand up while cutting my hair. It wasn’t a big deal, but very strange. For a while, we also were arguing about bangs length and how I wanted them shorter, and she kept saying it wouldn’t work on me. (But it would, because I’ve done it before). But we eventually found a middle ground. Though, what I did like was that she didn’t use a razor but just plain scissors. Would I go back? Hm… maaybe. Wasn’t bad, wasn’t good. Maybe if I can’t find anyone else.

(Normally, for $20, I get shampoo and style as well, but it is LA after all.)

They have a Supercuts at Westwood and Massachusetts. They’re pretty decent. You can just take Big Blue Bus down there…its like a 5 minute ride and 4 different lines will take you there. Also, Campus Cuts isn’t too bad…I mean Supercuts and other places are better but the horror stories for Campus Cuts seem a little exaggerated

I’ll give you a haircut! Just $9.99, no tip. I work at the Hollywood Upstairs Barbershop.

Ahh the perks of being able to buzz your own hair…
