Where is the best place to buy textbooks, used if possible? Obviously the bookstore but a rep at the oritentation mentioned something like halfpricebooks.com? Any thoughts. Thanks

also, should we buy books prior to the class? or should we wait until the first day of class to buy the books?

Just surprised nobody has any thoughts on book purchases, maybe everyone just goes to the bookstore? Any little savings would help us. Thanks

yeah, bookstore is the easiest. I’ve only bought online a few times because the prices aren’t that much better than the used books at the bookstore.

I usually buy my books before classes start, before the used ones sell out, but sometimes you don’t wind up needing all the books, so some people wait until class to find out what your professors really want you to have.

thanks I appreciate the info.

There are some books that are not returnable from the bookstore, there’s also classes that recommend books but never actually use them inclass (they’re just for reference) or they have them posted for free online

So, just be sure to know what your buying and if you’ll need it.
I once bought a book online, used, and sold it to the bookstore for more at the end of the semester… just my luck though
