All the dining halls have a variety of stuff and there's a lot of renovation going on this coming year, so it's hard to say what one dining hall is the anything-est!

And of course, a lot depends on how much you eat and what kind of stuff you like... in general, the key to eating things that taste good and won't kill you without draining your meal plan by mid-semester is introducing variety (i.e. SAC pizza every day is yummy and cheap, but won't make your arteries too happy... but every once in a while, it's a good meal) and keeping track of your balance carefully. And not getting juice or soda at every meal! Bring a water bottle instead (no, don't buy a new one every time, since that's healthier but also a colossal waste of money. Reuse one or get a damn nalgene) and you'll save tons without even really realizing it, which will let you relax about your point balance during finals when you've already got enough other stuff to worry about.

That said, some of stuff I think is edible:

Most things at Kelly are decent besides the pizza, which should be avoided at all costs (except for that late-night craving for hot food when pizza's all that's open). The vegetarian mexican food at Kelly is good, but stay the hell away from the meat (bean and cheese burrito? Yum. Burrito with ground beef that looks like diarrhea or chicken that looks like dog food? Not so much). The SAC has very good pizza, decent grill food, and a nice salad bar but also has crazily long lines that are not worth the wait most of the time. Jasmine is mostly good but sometimes erratic; use your eyes and common sense (i.e. if that pad thai looks crusty and gross, it probably is) and you'll be fine (their sushi is good but don't eat it too often or you'll run out of points in no time). The Union and Roth are being renovated, so I can't really speak to them, and Tabler is expanding to take some of the heat from Roth being closed (I don't remember if the options there are expanding or not).

If you're craving fruit, go for strawberries or grapes ($2.25) or a loose piece ($.80, I think?) instead of the ridiculously overpriced fruit bowls ($4.40). The other stuff is overpriced too, but not nearly as badly. Avoid the expensive juice-smoothie things unless you're making a meal out of it.

So to end my long-winded spiel... just don't be an idiot and you'll be fine. Don't go to any one dining hall so much that you're completely sick of it, watch your points, and don't splurge constantly. It's pretty easy.

I love SAC pizza, and I agree on your comments on Jasmine. Had some awful sesame chicken yesterday, but the chicken & broccoli was very good.

Word on the street is that the health sciences cafeteria is very good, but I'm really way too lazy to make it all the way over there, so I haven't been there since two summers ago.

Looking forward to the new places when they open, both this fall and the new Roth in Fall 08.

Ah, forgot about HSC! Most undergrads don't eat there much because it's on the other side of campus and isn't on our meal plan, but I work at health sciences and it's always a nice (and not very expensive) treat to grab lunch in the HSC cafeteria. Though most of the people I know who've tried to find it ended up lost in that crazy building :)
