Cheapest Colleges to "get away" to

No academies listed? Zero tuition, and a stipend!

... and let's hear it for ROTC scholarships, too.

academies are not for the normal student, i wouldnt include them

and for most of them there is also the payback piece - the obligation to serve

There are many more colleges when you look for higher out of state tuitions, say under $10,000 or so. I cut it off at $8700 to keep the list shorter. (There was a little break in the data there.)

OOS tuition to Florida Gulf Coast University is lower than in-state?

easydoesit, Evergreen charges an additional $10K for out of state tuition, in addition to the in-state amount (so probably around $15K annually??) -- I think that JJG's list is geared to find schools that are in the $10 to $12,000 for combined tuition and room & board.

Think of it like a star rating for expenses (the way many restaurant guides do it)

least expensive
** moderate cost
*** more expensive
**** most expensive

JJG has done everyone the favor of posting the * list.
Evergreen would be on the ** list. ;)
