I’m looking for some cheap online courses where I can take AP classes like Microeconomics and Computer Science. If I can’t find one cheaper than FLVS (I’m out of state so the courses are $800 per class) then I’ll probably just do FLVS. Does anyone have a good online course site where the courses are priced under $800? Thanks in advance.
@andrewoz9
http://www.aphomeschoolers.com/ is a good site for online AP courses IMO. I was looking at their AP English class by Maya Inspektor and she had lots of excellent reviews on WellTrainedMind.
AP Computer Science is here: http://www.aphomeschoolers.com/cgi-bin/choose.pl?class=compsci and the course is $625 if you register before July 1, 2015, so it is considerably cheaper than FLVS.
AP Microeconomics is here: http://www.aphomeschoolers.com/cgi-bin/choose.pl?class=micro and $495 is you register before July 1st (full year) / $395 (one semester), also considerably cheaper than FLVS.
The instructor qualifications are located at the end of the page and there are also class reviews by students. You can also look up the teachers’ names on WellTrainedMind to see if there are good reviews.
Here are very detailed reviews for the Computer Science course: http://www.aphomeschoolers.com/cgi-bin/review.pl?class=compsci
@thelittleswimmer Wow thanks a lot, just a quick question though, will I get AP credit for my high school if I take those classes and pass the AP exam? Again thank you for the site, there’s a good variety of courses on there too.

I’m pretty sure the courses count for high school credit (I believe I saw this on the site somewhere), but it wouldn’t hurt to email them to double check. Susan Richman, the main “person in charge” of the group can be emailed at: richmans@pahomeschoolers.com, or you can also email the course instructors separately: Cynthia Lang, AP Computer Science at pahscompsci@gmail.com and Daniel Burns, AP Microecnomics at swampfox185@gmail.com.
