I am looking for a really cheap printer-only (say w/ in $20-$40) for use at dorm.....provided that there will be printers available elsewhere.
Can you post some useful info and links?
Thanks. :)

It's not about cheap printers, it's all about the cost of the ink cartridges. While I can't think of really cheap printers, any info/links that you get, be sure to check on the cost of the replacement ink.

You can easily find printers for 30-40 bucks. Like michuncle said, it's all about the ink replacement..

so, wat wud u consider a cheap ink replacement? Something around $15 for black cartridges?

Consider a budget laser printer. I got a Samsung ML-2010 last year for like $50. The cartridge that comes with it is around 1k prints. Refills are around $20 for up to 2k prints.

This is only an example of an inexpensive inkjet printer. It is not an endorsement.

Lexmark Z1300: $25.00 street price (sometimes even cheaper!). A full set of cartridges=$37.00 (B&W plus Color).

thnx a lot guys!
