Okay so back in sophomore year, I was caught cheating on a quiz. I was sent to the office; however I am not sure if this gave me a referral. I was just given detention. Fast forward two years later, I am now a senior who has gotten into many of my top colleges. I am deciding between UC Davis and UCSD atm. Here’s the problem: I know transcripts are due, but will this include my academic integrity violation? Should I speak with my counselor to have it removed (he’s a really nice guy; hopefully I can convince him to if the worst comes to worst)? Thanks.
You should be able to see your transcript at any time. Normally your transcripts are sent before acceptance, so as long as the violation did not occur this year, it will make no difference. They just want to make sure that you did not get C or D grades.
Transcripts are sent in June to confirm that you met the condition of your acceptance (somewhere in your acceptance letter it will say something along the lines of 'subject to your successful completion of hs). Colleges can (and do) ‘rescind’ acceptances for students who don’t finish / don’t graduate / have marks that fall too dramatically.
If your “academic integrity violation” (!) is on your transcript, your colleges have already seen it. The June one will only be noted to confirm that you finished as expected.
