Cheating Friend

tell your friend that 1)you have to give your counselors phone number on the app. and if they call everything will come out and 2) how can he possibly forge a transcript? it has to be sent through the school and 3)there are lots of colleges he can go to. like everyone said, he can transfer

its over move it along slow poke. he turned the friend in on page one. you type too slow...

Meh, let him do what he wants. I think you're friend is actually on to something. Everyone talks a lot of *** about cheating. But you know what? Bs gets you everywhere. Call me an immoral piece of scum, but I speak the truth. :P

In some ways this situation reminds me of 'The Perfect Score', but anyways...

Someone at my school tried to pull this off several years ago, with the help of a school official. People with grades higher than his, better test scores, and all around better applicants began to wonder how he got in. Teachers pulled their own records, and found out they didn't match the transcripts he had sent out. I'm not sure what happened to the student, but the school employee got fired and barred from ever working in the district.

Even if he does pull it off initially, if he couldn't get accepted on his own merit, I doubt he will be able to survive. I support the 'go to a CC and transfer' option.

i say dooo ittt. if he gets awaywith it, he's the man!!!

Thell him that " smart criminal" is an oxymoron. Could also be good for his vocabulary.

he can't do it

you can't forge grades, even if you forge scores and ECs. schools have to send in that part of the transcript.

Your friend is just another victim of what everyone else tries to make about the prestige of certain colleges. People now think that the only way you can succeed in life is if you go to a top 20 college. That's COMPLETE garbage. You can go to ANY undergrad school in the US, and still end up at the most prestige grad school. As long as you bust your ass and get a high GPA and a high LSAT/MCAT/GMAT/GRE, etc...you can do whatever the hell you want. I have a friend that went to NAU (Northern Arizona University). Where did he end up going for grad school? Kellog School of Business. I've got another friend who went to CUNY Brooklyn...he's gratuated Yale Law School last year and got a starting salary of $155,000. Although this isn't as strong of an example, I know someone who got all C's and D's in HS, got into UConn (connections, father is a proffessor there), graduated UConn six years ago with a super high GPA/MCAT...and is at Columbia Med School.
I know that I personally won't end up at the most prestigious undergrad school (ASU? UA? UConn? WVU? FSU?) but that doesn't mean I can't go wherever I want for law school. The lack of the presitge will hurt a little when I apply to law school, but chances are I can go virtually anywhere IF I get a 3.8-3.9 GPA with a 175 LSAT. Correct??? Yes.

ANother thing to note is that it's higly probable that he will be placed on a permanent black list if he is caught--which is very liekly--b/c it is difficult for one person to be able to intercept, deceive, etc.

Maybe if u were some secret agent spy like James Bond with all the right resources and contacts, it'd be a piece of cake.

I don't see how he can do it. The school has to send in the transcript, and doesn't USC require official SAT score report? You can't exactly forge all this stuff. If he makes it though, WOW, keep us posted.
