Here's the full story. I am a junior in high school. I have had good grades for the past three years (Top 5 in a class of 400). I have never been in any trouble until now and my teachers have always sung praises about me.

Last week I forgot to complete a physics assignment. The teacher collected everyone's and saw that I didn't have it done. I decided to finish the assignment in class and I put it on his desk with everyone else's. He saw this and called me out on it later. He accused me of turning in an assignment late and trying to trick him by sneaking it in with the rest of the students' homework. I admitted to it because lying would get me in a bigger heap of trouble. He reported me to my dean and the dean and I had a little chat. She asked me about the incident and I admitted to everything. She knows that I genuinely feel bad about it and because I showed remorse, I would not be suspended for my actions. I would only have to take an academic honesty course with the librarian. I do not believe that I am on any sort of academic probation. However, there is a record of this incident.

These are my questions: Since I am not suspended, will I have to disclose this information on the CommonApp next year? Will the school disclose the incident to perspective colleges? Will it have any affect on scholarship applications?

I have a high SAT score (superscore 2340), my grades are high, and my extracurriculars are abundant so I am thinking about high powered schools like Duke or UNC Chapel Hill. Will the level of colleges I am applying to affect whether or not the school will disclose this incident?

Thanks in advance.
