I had a history test last week, and my section took it like two days before the other section. For some reason my teacher allowed us to keep the sheet of questions (we had to use our own paper to write the answers) because it had the take-home essay topic on it. Some ass licker gave the paper to some kids in the other section and it was getting passed around. I know the identity of the ass licker and of three of the kids who were using the paper to study. I'm not sure if I should report this :( I think they would be able to figure out that it was me who snitched because I commented on the fact that they were basically cheating. Should I let it go or report it? I don't want to make this a big deal, but I think they should face consequences.

Did they use the study guide with the answers DURING the test? If no, I wouldn’t really consider it cheating. I would consider it to be like exchanging notes. I always use the reviews from various teachers to study for my tests.

I have felt similarly in classes before in terms of cheating, copying, etc. Just follow the old saying “Ignorance is bliss”. The less you know, the better.

If the teacher gave you guys the list of questions, she was probably anticipating it would be seen by other people. She might have a different version of the test for the other class. I wouldn’t worry about it- it’s not like you did anything wrong.

Dude! Go find something else to worry about :P

Why do you care?

Are you really going to feel better after screwing over some random people when they are doing it to themselves? The people who are “cheating” are only hurting themselves. Don’t worry about cheaters, because they never prosper. I’m sure you work hard, and it will pay off.

Did she tell you guys not to give the answers to the other class? Honestly, this isn’t a fight worth fighting–just let it go and don’t worry about it.

I’d say no. I’m completely for turning people in that cheat, but in this case, it seems like the teacher has something up her sleeve if she let you take it home.

“Dude! Go find something else to worry about :P”
“Why do you care?”

Because it’s unethical. People need to learn to play fair. Like I said I don’t want to make a big deal.

I’ve decided he must have given them a different list, so I’m not going to report it.

I don’t see how it concerns you; you’re not their mothers so it’s not your place to be teaching them life lessons or ethics. Live and let live.

Wow this is just a regular history test? NERD!!! Lol stop being jealous! Dude its just a test. Who cares!?

Because this matters in the long run >_>

Cheating without ever facing consequences -> possibility of becoming corrupt -> dysfunctional society

I’m NOT saying that this particular instance would lead to that, I’m just trying to explain why I’m very opposed to letting cheaters slide.

Not like it will change anything. Go find something better to do.

This is coming from someone who hates when people cheats off of me.

I would not tell the teacher what happened exactly but I would make it very clear that someone has given the information to other students and it is up to her to do something about it.

every highschool across the world has some form of cheating going on all the time. If you worry about everyone who cheats, then you’re not gonna survive highschool. You can’t worry about everyone’s integrity.
