cheating your way through high school..

there is this asian in my school and he's really smart. he was like on the news for his science fair project about oil and stuff.

anyway, ever since like freshman year he has been somehow getting test answers from the teachers behind their backs and selling them to other kids. he also does the same with homework since he's like a year ahead of everyone in my grade. he will sell kids homework and test answers for like $5-$20.

so recently he got caught for sneaking into the APUSH classroom and taking pics of the test key.. he got suspended for 10 days , you would think that he would have learned his lesson, but no! i was in chemistry and the kid sitting next to me is his friend and he got a text from him saying "i got the comp. programing test answers"

i didnt think it was possible to "cheat your way though high school" but apparently kids do, i dont think this is fair for people like me who actually work for my good grades minus copying a few last minute homework assignments here and there.. what do you guys think? do you know anyone like that? haha

thats great! Do whatever it takes to get good grades! Good for him!

If he's been caught like you say he was, especially more than once, he's basically ****ed up his chance at most top schools.

Is HE cheating, or is he just helping others cheat to get money? Maybe he's having problems at home...:)

I SORTA do something like that. After each chemistry section, we get review worksheets and you can find the exact worksheet with the answers on google. When I first found it, I saved every section on my computer and it's good I did because the teacher got Houfton Mifflin to block that page. But I don't really sneak into a class or take it off the teacher's desk.

he's not doing it because of problems at home, he's just selling it because he can. but he has only been caught once and he is one of the top 10 kids in our class out of 700

i love how you referred to the cheater as "this asian." kinda weird--try substituting "this black guy." sounds a little racist. good job.

iwas just painting a picture... haha, im not rasict trust me im 1/4 asian.

alright cool, glad you took it lightly :)

I was just thinking the exact same thing.

hah. nice job putting in his RACE =P.

lol...im black but i have an friend who did cheat his way through high school. This kid is not at at all smart but each year he managed to make deals with certain ppl in classes so he could earn the grades he needed. he did a good job at it too. I honestly think that cheating is an art not to say that it's moral, but when your in a competitive high school society where everybody is getting good grades and scores which seems to be all that matters these days, if you cheat, get those grades and scores you need, nothing would matter. There are probably a decent amount of people that have cheated their way to the top. And sure....you can be in honest person, but if you are getting beat by a cheater and no one knows they cheat....sux for you.

that's so retarded. do his teachers know that he's still doing it?

If you cheat your way through high school you won't know much when you go to college so you'll have to cheat there too, and then when you go to the workplace you probably won't know how to do anything and you'll have to leech off of others...(which you might be good at since you've done it all your life, but I still find depending on others to be a pain in the butt). This also happens to a smaller extent to people who go to high school and don't learn much and/or only retain material until the test.

So if you want to live a life of dependency, cheating is the way to go. Otherwise, it's much better to actually learn things. Cheaters, an education is a privilege -- there's a reason your parents pay for it (whether directly or through taxes). You'll need it in the real world.

Damn Cheaters. Same stuff happens everywhere, what can you do but to make sure your pride prevents you from stooping to such levels?

don't freak out about it.

when he tries to get a job/ pass hard classes in college, the truth will come out. unless he's ubersmart and has a photographic memory or something. but if he has to resort to cheating, that's probably not the case.

I see 3 ways to go through life: follow the system, fight the system, or exploit the system.

So, which sound better?

I spent half a year in a public high school and left.

I totally forgot that one of my reasons was because people got together in groups and cheated!

I think that this is very common. Even if they don't get copies of the answer keys I think that sometimes the smartest kid just answers assignments and lets everyone else copy. When I was in bio class I noticed this happening and my friend kept trying to copy off mine because I was one of the smart ones in the class. The teacher was in the room the whole time and just very blind about it!

They will get a wake up call when they take the SAT/ACT and any other tests like that where they won't be able to get answer keys and cheat. A good GPA is nothing with a bad SAT score.

I cheat sometimes. Like everyone in my class cheats to keep up with each other. So many people copy homework and cheat on tests and quizzes. I even cheated on my whole entire bio midterm and got a 90 sumthin bc of it.

That suspension will follow him, and he will most likely get caught again

If kids are all sharing, yeah, got the test from Bob, the teachers will hear
