i wouldnt know. i guess it sort of depends on how many kids get into ivy leagues in a school. i mean, you can be a good student but not care if you go to an ivy league. that's not really competitive, is it? i dunno, really

my school is a small (230 student) all girl's private catholic school.. very competitive. most of the genuinely intelligent girls don't cheat. almost all of my friends fall into that category. pretty much there's one group of girls that cheat.. it makes me really mad because they all end up with A's without doing nearly as much work as the rest of us, and they ruin any sortof curve that might exist. no one plagarizes, it's mostly just like one class will take a test, then all of the girls in the cheating group will tell the rest of the cheaters who have the class later that day what questions were on the test, etc. plus i get really ****ed off when they say that they "have" to cheat (they dont call it cheating of course) because they dont have enough time. give me a break, having soccer and not getting home until 6:30 one night is not a big deal. i dont get home until 9:30 every night and i manage. however, copying answers for hw that just gets checked and doesnt really count for anything is not a big deal in my opinion, as long as it's not an every day occurence.
