Yup - DS got deferred too. Kind of figured it would be that. It was a reach. No biggie as it isn’t his first choice, but it would have been nice to have as an option. We’ll see…

Do you think they are outright rejecting anyone at this point - or is it just “accepted” or “deferred”?

Okay, finally able to log onto Buzzport, I was greeted by this:

G.P. “Bud” Peterson
President

Also a “Congratulations You’re a Yellow Jacket” thing on Bobby Dodd Stadium board.

So I finally got passed the main screen to check my app status and I am definitely accepted. Maybe my lack of email has something to do with PSP? A girl can dream. Haha

Who’s DS? Yeah, Tech was a slight reach for me; I’m hoping to get into Georgia, but I honestly don’t think I’ll like the party atmosphere… which was why I sort of wanted to go to Tech, because everyone is there to study, as do I.

Also, I don’t think they’re rejecting anyone right now… but just deferred. I THINK.

For those deferred, you can still get in through regular admission in March. Also, Ga Tech accepted 150 off waiting list this past fall as well.

My SAT score was 1590 and ACT score was 23. My GPA was 4.0 unweighted. I took 5 AP classes and several honors classes. I was in sports: varsity ex. and took part in clubs. I had leadership, volunteer. Is there anyway I can take the Jan. SAT and send my scores in to GT for the March decision?

Below you will find the latest test date that will be considered in each round, if Georgia Tech is listed to receive your scores at the time you take the test.

October 1 Early Notification - through October
November 1 President’s Scholar Deadline - through November
January 15 Regular Decision - through January

Got this info off Ga Tech site…so sounds like you can take the January SAT

So even if I am deferred. I can still take SAT in Jan. and they will change it automatically if i send electronically. Also, do I have to pay for the regular application if I get deferred?

I hadn’t thought about having my son re-take the SAT. Might have him do the ACT instead. Or - if he gets into the school he really wants (and I hope we hear soon!) - then we just won’t worry about it.

did they announce those already? the admissions officer told me they would probably announce in mid december? and if i did not get an email about that, can i assume that I am not being considered? thanks for any info you can provide!

Congrats everybody! Hope I will be joining you next year.

And congrats @IGotFiveOnIt, I knew you’d get in Hopefully you’ll have another New Englander coming your way next year (if you decide to go to GT).

Thank you SLightManifesto! I loved Georgia Tech when I visited it in the summer, I just have to see if the financial aid portion works out all right. If it does, ATL here I come!!
