Check here if you need common app help

So you might have seen me lurking these forums hard during this winter break. Im done with my apps and im trying to help you guys out. Post here if you have any small questions.

First thing first though.
If you are scared about mailing, or you didnt get something done in time, or if an error was on your application. CALL THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE OF THE SCHOOLS. They literally ARE the best solution. do this BEFORE you post! If you need help like changing things on commonapp, something not showing up. Anything like that Post and ill try my best to help you out. This is also a quick forum reference for anyone looking for answers

In completing the supplement for an out-of-state school I accidentally began to enter residency information which was NOT needed. How can I clear the information? The form is not allowing me to “uncheck” or “clear” an entry that is not needed?

michmom, I have the answer to your question. If you didn’t check that you were applying for in state tuition on the main portion of the common app, it most likely doesn’t matter that you accidentally messed up. Normally, the admissions office doesn’t even look at that section, the financial aid office does, and if you didn’t check that you wanted in state tuition, then they skip over that part of the supplement from my understanding. Hope that helped.

That is my thinking as well. I hope it is correct - my daughter doesn’t want the supplement to contain conflicting information. At this point we have to leave it as is. Thanks for the help.

I’m finished, but when I previewed my common app, it shows that some of my future plans are not filled out and cuts off over half of my additional information. Does anyone know why this happens and what to do about it? :(

@mathsciencedude: Common App support said don’t worry, be happy. If it looks right to you on the Web form, it’ll look right to the college.
So I have submitted most of my apps on the common app , but there is one school that is giving me trouble. Once I try to submit it, it gives me this error:

" An error has occurred during save due to use of your browser’s back button. Please use the left-hand menu to navigate back to this page and re-save your answers."

I have no idea…

wow, thank you so much geek_mom. Your link actually answered another question as well!

thank you so much geek_mom, that was very helpful :3
