Check my final (?) list of colleges?

<p>I narrowed this down from like 30+ colleges so I'm not really looking for college suggestions. What I'm interested in is do you think there is a gap between the reaches and the safeties?</p>

Amherst

Santa Clara U Pitt

<p>My theory is that I would prefer going to the UC system than the "worse" LACs. </p>

<p>in state for UCs
SATI 2290 (800,760,730) (CR, M, W)
class rank top 10%ish at a hard college prep boarding school
SAT II 800, 760, 800 (World Hist, Chem, US Hist)
ECs: probably average for people w/ my stats
essays: a bit above average, probably nothing ridiculously good though</p>

<p>I think it’s a great list. If you’re IS, you’ll probably get into all the UCs you’re applying to. You have a good shot at every school on your list and I’m sure you’ll have a ton of great college choices.</p>

<p>It’s a very good list, but there is quite a gap between your top choices and your safeties, however, that’s perfectly fine if you’d be happy at your safety schools.</p>

<p>Know, Santa Clara and Pitt seem unnecessary unless you’re really taken with them. Maybe just one of them if it’d help you to sleep?</p>
