My dream is to attend UF, I'm a rising senior.
If what I have below is correct I have a 3.9 UF WGPA; 3.7 UWGPA
Here is what my schedule was: *****PLEASE take into consideration that my school offers no AP classes until 12th grade and that we offer no honors classes, only "advanced." I have been told that "advanced" are honors because they are fast paced like honors. Please correct me if anything I did was wrong. Please judge my course load. I took the highest courses available (besides AP physics because I wanted to do chemistry). ANDDD CHS classes stand for "College in High School." I figured those classes counted as Duel Enrollment(DE), however I didn't take the credits because I thought I would be moving to Oklahoma, I live in PA now. One more questions!! Will UF see all my absences? I have 45 this year because I thought I was moving so I visited a few times. and I was extremely sick with stomach problems and had 2 surgeries this past school year.

Please :/? Im torn up about this!

I think your course-load looks fine. Your senior schedule looks great. I think they factor in what school you go to, so they should know that your school doesn’t let you take double-digit AP courses like some kids take. You likely took the hardest schedule that was possible at your school and that’s all you can do.

I don’t know anything about absences, but I doubt that they would reject you because of that. I don’t know your test scores, ECs, etc. so that’s my opinion based solely on your course-load.

Thanks:) I figured it would be too much to add a chance me in too. I was really worried about my UF GPA because our valedictorian only had a 4.2 and UF wants a 4.1. Thank you again :)

Bump Please help!!!

I can confirm that UF will factor in what classes your school has to offer in determining your GPA and Rigor. They try not to “hold it” against the student, that the school doesn’t offer a full slate of advance/AP/AICE type classes. The average (UF) GPA range is 4.1 to 4.5, but 4.1 is not a minimum GPA requirement.

Since you’re from PA, you should make it a point to explain this in your app; that your school doesn’t offer AP classes till 12th grade (the UF admin reviewing your app may not be familiar with your OOS high school, though they will be familiar with PA).

BUMP Please? Anyone else?

So many questions.

On your GPA. When calculating your UF GPA: only include academic classes (all of your classes listed are academic classes), honor classes are award an extra 0.5 points (a B would be worth 3.5, while an A is worth 4.5), AP and DE(CHS) are awarded an extra 1.0 points (a B would be worth 4.0, while an A is worth 5.0). Spanish 1 and 2 are standard courses, but Spanish 3 is often treated as an honors class. Since yours is a CHS class, it should be awarded the extra 1.0 points.

If you followed the above, your GPA should be accurate.

Your course load is fine, for Rigor, UF does consider what’s available at your high school. They want to see that you’ve taken the most demanding courses. They will not care if you took college credit for the CHS classes; only the CHS class impact on GPA (and Rigor) is considered.

UF may see your absences. You should use this to your advantage, by explaining that you’ve missed so many days due to serious health issues, however, you still was able to take a rigorous class load and do well. UF’s app does have a section where you can explain any challenges you’ve had to overcome, such as health issues. You can also use this section to explain your Trig grade (I’m assuming it was impacted by your health issues).

Good Luck!

Thanks for explaining, I’ll definitely use your advice :).
