which uni on my list or of the rest i dont list do i get the most possibility to enroll?
besides,i need more than half grant to support my education.
so guys,give me some advise!
plz

Hard to know without scores.

If you want to major in Business, half of those schools don't really qualify.

alexandre, would u give me some advise on selection?

One of the problems with applying to so many schools is that it is difficult to do the research on them that is necessary to put together a stellar application, and make a good case for going there. This is evident in that you did not know that a number of your selected schools do not offer a business major. Also, many of those schools are small colleges that look carefully at how strong your interest is in their schools. You really need to do some work in this regard. If business is indeed your targeted major, you need to get a list of schools that have that major. As an international student, you should be aware that you app will not be processed need blind. You should look at schools where your numbers put you in the top 10% of the student body at least to get money. Since you will not qualify for US govt funds, the school needs to have the money to subsidize you. Without test scores I cannot begin to advise you where you stand with those schools you have listed. For many liberal arts colleges, economics is a major that is often chosen in lieu of business if you like those schools you have listed and are willing to make that switch.

It's very unclear what you're looking for in a school. What are your criteria? It seems that your list is very unfocused and all over the place. Penn and Sarah Lawrence are complete opposites. I would think someone who would like one environment would hate the other one. Emory, Amherst and Lehigh are completely different from each other too.

for me ,financial aid would the first element for me to choose a college or uni
then academic field
uPenn famouse extremely ,good location, nice attitude to chinese stud
Sarah Lawrence, for me ,easy to get into, thats y i put it in my list
Emory. Business Major is great
Amherst ,fav.LAC
Lehigh, good opportunity to get into

I agree with Gellino. NYU and Amherst are completely different. What do you want out of college. Small, intimate and personalized or large, diverse and versatile? Rural, suburban or urban? Very serious and intense or laid back and casual? Do geographic and financial restrictions come into play?

We must also know more about your credentials. Your GPA and class rank seem solid, but give us more details. You say you are among the top 10 in your class. Is that in a highly competitive school with over 200 students in your class that sends over 10 students to elite universities around the world annually? Or is that in an average school with only 20 students in your class that hardly ever sends students to elite universities?

Do you know what to expect on your SAT?

OK
Let me put it into detail
my school is the best one in the region of a population of over 5,000,000(but maybe its useless for u ,cause u know china's population stuff)
its a public school, the most competitive one, hardest to get into, but it cost me no efforts, even the principal strongly urge to get in with financial aid.

this year,we have over 100 gradates who r accpeted by China's best Uni ,which is really shocking .and one accpeted by Cambridge Uni of Britain, first time in history.(there have no one who apply to uni of america in my school,i am making history right now)

i am choosing literal art subjects-----Politics and History of World and China,(National Curriculum, not AP or IB).in China, most stud would choose Science ones------Chemistry ,Physics or Biology. But I do interested in Literal Art.And i am interested in International Relation and Economy,i am devoted to have a career on them.

about Psychology, because of some personal experience, i have passion for that.BTW,its a good major to make good Money.:)

I do care about Financial aid and Scholarship for International Applicants. My parents dont want their only daughter to go such a far place to begin her Uni.they insist me to go abroad after undergraduation. But i dont follow their will.so they ask me to get full scholarship if i wanna go ,for they wont support with any finance.

btw,i also care about location.New England,Southeast or Southwest would be ok for me.
i dont care about the size of school ,private or public, large or small, both r ok
i do attend coed uni.i dont wanna be a freak graduate from a all-women uni.

i am confident to get a score of 2100 or above on SAT I in NOV.
MAth,750 or above for sure, too easy for me
Writing,700
VERBAL,NOT SO SURE,i am expecting a 650

Until you get your test scores, you really cannot plan which schools are reasonable for you. Some of the schools you list do not have merit awards which means your family would need to qualify for financial aid in order to get any money. Since most schools are not needblind for internationals , you would need to be way up there in stats and desireability in order to get any of the school money, the only source of aid since, government money would not be accessible to you.
In addition to some of your more selective choices, do look at some schools that are not as competitive but have some excellent merit awards. If your stats come out high, you may have a better shot at getting money there. The trick to gettting money as an international student is to diversify your choices so that you have as many chances in different venues to get what you want.

Try Stern, Tepper, Ross, and Wharton for the best business schools.

well i thought even with financial aid, u might need to contribute some of the fees, and included in the financial aid package, u might need to take up loan, hmmm pm me if u found any school that offer international aid full ride!! : )

Your first concern as an international woman should be safety. If you can afford it choose a small LAC in a small town. If money is an issue, though, then you have to make that your first priority and go where you can afford it. We have many foreign students here in CA who go to community college because it is so cheap ($100 per course). De Anza college in Cupertino is one of the best junior colleges in the nation. From De Anza if your grades are A's you can go to a UC for your last two years.

I would apply to some Public state schools. Most of them offer the major you want, maybe not TOP of the line, but a good program, and may even offer some financial aid.

I have to disagree with some others here and applaud your types of choices huashi8846. My college list to start with was like yours... filled with likelies, 50/50s and realistic challenges, as well as different types of colleges (large, medium universities, smaller liberal arts colleges, etc.). I think this is very good...pick out a large list of schools you are interested in, and once you get your SAT or other scores back, you can start narrowing down, placing things into the three categories (likely, 50/50, realistic challenge), and adding or subracting where needed. As time goes by, you will want to think about what you really want out of a school, because just the fact that it is "easy for you to get into" will not make you happy, if this is by chance the only school you get into. You want to try to be happy with all or most of your choices. Hope that helps!

You must set up your search for colleges which give aid to international students. Do not waste your time researching a school which has no hope of financial aid.

Financial aid for international students in the USA is extremely competitive. You are competing with the best students in the world for very limited money.

Again, know where the money is, and pursue that. For example, Wesleyan University in Connecticut has a scholarship of $35,000 per year for an Asian student. Check out the site for International Education Financial Aid (<a href="http://www.iefa.org%5B/url%5D">http://www.iefa.org</a>) and search for scholarships.

Also, spend some time at <a href="http://www.edupass.org%5B/url%5D">http://www.edupass.org</a>, which gives info on what you need to know and also some financial aid information.

I think your search should identify schools with money first, THEN narrow the list from there.

You can find other information by putting the following into Google:
"financial aid" "international students"

I agree with Digmedia that you should look for schools that offer financial aid for internationals first. In addition, from your posts, it appears that you might be looking for merit aid and not need-based aid. If that is the case, you should not apply ED anywhere, because you will be bound to attend that school even if you don't receive the merit scholarship you were hoping for. Although you can get out of an ED decision due to financial circumstances, it is very difficult, other colleges might be notified and I would not recommend taking that approach.
