check out my sched

is this is a tough load for freshman first sem????

ASTR001
BIOL101
MATH104
ECON002

It looks like a normal load. It’s probably on the tougher side of what you can get as a freshman, but completely manageable.

I’m nervous b/c most of it will be all completely new information and we only have 3 months to learn it all… i guess that’s all normal in college, but i’m still nervous!!

you’ll be fine. it’s supposed to be new- that’s how u learn : )

It’s normal to be nervous. I’ll be a junior and I’m still a little nervous. But you quickly get used to the workload and the pace. You’ll be fine:).

Oh crap, some people have told me that my schedule is insane. Argh. How can I make it easier??? I really like all the subjects. Should I change ASTR001 to a writing class? would that be easier??

writing will be easier. however, astr is not a tough course. there might be some math in it, but it’s not too bad. your schedule is still a lot easier than a SEAS student who would be taking math 104, chem 101, physics 150, and an intro engineering course.

the schedule really isn’t hard, and for sure NOT insane. some have easier schedules, but a lot of way worse ones. dont worry at all. it’s only four courses, and a lot of people have 5 (some even 6!)

if that’s insane, what do you have to say about this one:

finance 103 --honors econ 010
math 114 --calc II after BC in highschool
Russian 360 --accelerated russian
Writing seminar -Rough Justice
Management 100

feel better?

are we trying to one-up each other on schedules now? geez necrophiliac why dont you wait until a SEAS student posts his/her schedule?

necro: how did u get into RUSS360??? were u born in russia? how can u go from hs russian to russ360?

I never took Russian in HS. I was born in Russia and speak it fluently. Just need to work on writing/reading to be completely proficient.

how did they let u take that advaned a level w/o having any formal instruction in reading and writing? did u have 2 have a placement test or talk to the dep’t? i’m surprised they let u skip so many requirements

hah the standard freshman bioengineering schedule:

be 100
phys 150
chem 101
chem 053
math 114

yeah that schedule isn’t insane at all… and astronomy is not hard at all if you can do basic math lol.
i know plenty of freshmen who took 5 classes, so i wouldn’t sweat it.

BIO121
CALC114
WRIT025
SPAN110

There is a nice balance in my schedule between the advanced courses and less difficult electives.

Wow I’m glad I switched out of BE, even though CSE isn’t that much of an improvement in terms of difficulty…

ASTR001 is a joke… you are given all relevant formulas on tests, and they are unofficially open book… as in the professor actually says that she will turn a blind eye if she sees people open their textbooks during exams.
BIOL101 is a weeder course and will be your toughest, but it is intro biology… if you took AP you’ll be in great shape.
MATH104 is Calc BC. If you took any calculus in high school, then the toughest two things you will have to deal with are Taylor series and the fact that intro math professors can’t teach.
ECON002 is an intro econ course, but if you study and give an honest effort, you won’t get below a B. You’re not looking at much work compared to engineering or social science heavy schedules.

Necrophiliac
FNCE103 is a bit more difficult but from what I’ve heard it isn’t terrible at all.
MATH114 was the bane of my existence, but if you understand math at all, it isn’t hard
RUSS360 will not be difficult for a native speaker
Writing seminars are all jokes.
MGMT100 is a ton of work but a relatively easy class.

So your schedule is pretty easy as well.

Tenebrousfire, you have the toughest schedule of the people who posted it. BE100 is tough, and though PHYS150 is easier than PHYS170, it is a hell of a lot of work. CHEM101 is super tough and I don’t even know what CHEM053 is… so good luck with that haha

haha chrisw, you know i graduated right?

that was my schedule 4 years ago =)

since then i’ve had much tougher schedules - but now i’ve got the hardest of all, being a travelling consultant

but the economy sucks and u have a job, so it’s all gooddddddddd
