the link does not work.

Sorry about that. Here's the new link...........

wow thanks!

thanks. nice pics

those pics of uc merced are....um....interesting...

yeah seriously where is merced? lol

i just visited UCSD and UCI. I have to admit, UCSD is kind of ridiculously big. the dorms are "eh" and it just seems really unconnected since all the buildings and everything is so far apart. UCI is really nice. to bad UCSD didnt have UCI's campus/size

the pics make ucsd nicer than it really is

yeah. I will have to admit the library and the super quiet 7th and 8th floor was spectacular, RIMAC is perfectttt, and of coures the beach so close by was amazing. But i was kind of shocked at how big UCSD really is. All the buildings are really far apart, the dorms are kind of old/nasty and the whole "suite" set up makes it seem everyone is unconnected, the fact everything is so far apart makes everything seem chaotic and unconnected as well. And UCSD got grades C- for guys and i think C for girls..yeah me and my friend jacob thought girls..were pretty much around there and my gf and her friend thought guys were around there too..my friend who showed me around then explained "triton vision".

by no means am i trying to offend anyone. its just experience was disappointing after peers/pictures made SD seem so small and connected

you guys are depressing. i haven't visited ucsd yet so i really can't dispute what you guys said but i felt the same when i visited ucla. it took me more than an hour to walk around the huge campus. also, some of the buildings looked like they were losing its aesthetic appeal. i suppose when people mention ucla's campus, they think of royce, kerckhoff, and haines. but that's pretty much everything. the rest of the campus couldn't really match those three buildings. the pictures on that website definitely do not show the true ucla campus. i haven't really visited the rest of the campuses so i can only say that for ucla but i'm sure all UC campuses (maybe with the exception of berkeley) has some faults, either in size or visual appearances.

as for "triton vision," i sure hope it isn't as bad as "berkeley goggles"

oh no..but the triton vision..lol lets just say its fairly true. And yeah to get around UCSD would take prlly more like 2 hours. its a enormous campus. UCI was great. i heard UCLA was amazing as well though because it has that ivy league look. I guess I should check it out myself

I don't know which dorms you were talking about, but even living in Revelle is fine with me, and I'm relatively high maintainence. The suite style dorms actually make for a MUCH more social atmosphere than traditional hallway styles because it encourages heavy use of the suite common area, and so you generally get to know your suitemates really well. My suite is really social and loud and energetic (but surprisingly pretty clean, too), and our suite interacts with a lot of people from other suites, too. And I don't know what's with everyone and triton vision, because I think that's totally overplayed and stupid. Every campus has a wide variety of people, in different shapes and sizes, and to factor "triton vision" into your decision, to me, is ridiculous. I'm hoping that people go to college for more than hot guys/girls.

2 hours? It takes me 15 minutes to walk from Revelle to Warren, and that's almost as cross-campus as you can get. It's definitely a relatively large campus, but you FOR SURE get used to it. This is coming from someone who never walked anywhere or exercised or played sports in high school. Plus, the shuttle is pretty convenient.

Never visited UCI, so I wouldn't know about how nice it is, although I've heard good things. UCLA, in my opinion (which people rarely agree with, in this case) is HIGHLY overrated for the exact reason you just said. It looks kind of like an Ivy League, but only because it's trying so hard to. All those "ivy league" buildings look WAY too pristine to actually look like they belong in Harvard, and as a result, I just felt like UCLA was an imposter. And if you think UCSD's size is a problem, you'll probably feel the same way about how hilly UCLA is - the dorms are on one hill, and classes are on the other. The hills are relatively steep. Use your imagination.

don't worry about it, you guys will have fun.

And about the suite issue... I live in muir and we have suites if you don't already know. I know all the guys and girls who aren't in their room or library all day. You will get to know people and you will have fun doing so.

i'm in muir, that's sounds good to me...

i'm in muir too! i'm pretty excited but nervous XD

thestrals_00 - what high school you go to? I'm from norwalk.

BTW i'm currently a freshman @ muir right now.

i go to santa fe :D
