<p>I think you have a great chance. Have you taken the SAT yet? or plan too? How about your AP test scores? You have good leadership along with music and sports which is good. Don’t worry about the white male thing at Emory, it won’t hurt you. I would say you should try for Emory Scholar program as well, doesn’t hurt to try. You should be able to get some financial aid as well, but it really depends on more than just parents income, assets are also reviewed.</p>

<p>I, too, think that you are a strong candidate. Make sure you show interest in Emory. If you cannot visit, try to make it to an info session near where you live, order the video, etc. Good luck!</p>

<p>concur with the others about being a strong admissions candidate, but it’s not worth it to apply for Scholars. Absent a hook, 30 is just not competitive. Emory does have very good finaid, however.</p>
