Also, do i have any chance at financial aid? My parent's combined make 80K but I have to pay alone.

If you need any other information feel free to ask. Thanks again!

you wont get in with that ACT score. get it up 2 or more points at least.

what school are you applying to? and do you plan on doing ED?
Assuming arts & sciences and regular decision I’d say you’re borderline waitlist/accept. ditto on getting up the ACT score because that would push you more towards accept. Just so you know, Vanderbilt won’t superscore ACT. And you will def get financial aid as long as your parents fill out the forms. My parents are around combined 80k and they’re paying 9k a year (I have 2k in work study and the rest is in grants)

You’re in the top 5% of your class with a 29/30 ACT?

You may want to try the SAT - some people do better on it.

As far as financial aid, wow, Yeah my parents make more than that and I’m getting well over half of the total cost paid for via need-based award.

If you’re the first person in your family to go to college, chances are you don’t know about FAFSA, CSS or EFC’s but basically going to schools like Vanderbilt that cover 100% of your need is very cheap.

keep testing to try to raise ACT try the SAT, but all hope is not lost if scores dont improve. make sure you prevent yourself well wherever you apply, write essay that show your passions and who you really are. if you make them see you as runner who support obama, not a white guy with a 30 on the ACT your chances will be better.

as far as aid goes, Vandy is amazing. There package included about $10,000 more aid than other comparable schools
