Has anyone checked their application status online? Mine says that they are missing the required payment, which doesn't make any sense. There is a disclaimer on the site about it being busy, but I sent my application with fee (online, commonapp) almost 2 weeks ago.

are you asking for regular decision?

yes, regular decision

The admissions office has been really swamped trying to scan all the ED materials in (see other threads about this) so I'd wait a week or so and check again. If it still shows the payment is missing, I'd call. When my son's materials for ED first went in, I think it showed the same thing. I made a quick call and they updated their information. But again, I'd wait until ED decisions come out--you might actually get someone live then.

it should probably appear soon. it took several weeks for mine to show up when i sent my materials in for Early Decision, they're probably just extremely busy at the moment. i wouldn't worry until another week or two, or even three has passed, they probably just haven't sorted it all out yet.

In case anyone was wondering, my status was updated today. At least I know they have my application and payment. It still shows everything else (recs, test scores) as missing though. I'll give it another week before I get worried again.

Wait more than a week before you're worried. ED stuff took quite a while to get scanned into the system (if you read the many threads on this). My son's stuff was finally updated a week after Thanksgiving even though it was sent in before the November 1 deadline and I knew everything had been sent. I think they have a new system that is giving them some fits. You'll be fine and they'll contact you if it is past the deadline and they are missing some items. I'll bet they are still sorting through some ED stuff so wait until after the ED announcement before worrying.

Maybe your credit card doesn't work?
Sorry to intrude on your thread but I have a question.. if it says "Your materials have been received. Your application has been forwarded to the admissions staff for review." This includes SAT IIs correct? I've been having some problems with collegeboard and missing score reports and since I sent my SAT II scores later (November), I'd like to clear this up.
(status on collegeboard score report says PENDING) but Cornell says "received."
Thanks!

if this is for RD, call after cornell is done with ED stuff. checking online, although efficient, may not be accurate. thats why it is always good for them to have hard copies of parts of your application. dont always trust your online status. thats what happened to my friend last year, only to find out that he was rejected becuase this particular school didnt have his SAT scores, even though they said that they had it online, and he never called to confirm

^ it is for ED. should i call to confirm?

yes (10char)
