Checking application status

Does anyone know how to use the myRIT portal to check the status of an application? S's application is in, but all I see on the web page are links to apply. Nowhere does it say that they have his app, the ACT scores, or letter from counselor/transcript.

Thanks.

I recall issues last year, my S e-mailed many times with admissions. First he got an e-mail that his app was complete, but online it said they were missing some things. The school had sent his transcripts, but I think RIT misplaced them. It took a while to straighten out.

Does he have a user ID and password to log in? If so, there should be a link to check status of application. If not, it never hurts to check with admissions. Or, if he just submitted recently, I would give it a week or two to see if it shows up.

Thanks Mamabear. I did call today. Since they are apparently switching to a new system this year, it took them a while to piece together all the parts of his application. Everything but the Guidance Counselor letter is there, but they had some searching to do to find it. On the portal it still only has buttons to apply. I’m guessing it might be a while before they get that up and running, too.

Thanks for the post about when the kids hear about ED decisions. S got his application in first thing - just so he could relax more his senior year. Only now I think the stress of waiting might just kill him!!

I did hear that many kids will likely know in December but, for some reason, the Mech Eng. program tells kids later on. S is going Software Engineering, so we are now hopeful for December - which seems like a lifetime away!

Yes, my D will probably be one of the ones waiting until end of March to hear from most of her schools this year! My S applied to Drexel, which has rolling admissions, last year also so he knew he was in somewhere.
