Checklist: What to bring to Freshmen Orientation?

Can one of the UCLA students post what incoming Freshmen should bring with them when they come to campus for the Freshmen Orientation Program?

cloth? some good/running shoes if you want to do carpe noctum or however you spell that, ummm a phone to text people when you are bored during some of the events lol don't really need anything, i think you need a blanket or do they give you one?

they give you a blanket. if you don't want to use that you can bring a sleeping bag.

bring whatever you need for three days... study material for placement tests if you want... laptop (and lock) if you want it... and i very much second the good shoes thing. carpe noctem + flip flops = bad idea!

From the good folks at UCLA Orientation:

"Items You Should Have at Orientation
All official records you have received from UCLA, including this confirmation
A photo ID (e.g., a driver's license or student identification card)
Your BruinCard - your student ID for UCLA (if you sent in a photo and had your BruinCard mailed back to you)
Comfortable clothes and shoes, a pen, a #2 pencil
Money (to pay for parking and/or any souvenirs)
Copies of transcripts, test score results and catalogs from any post-high school institutions (to assist in planning your coursework for the Fall)
Backpack or bag to carry items on campus
First-year students only: toiletries, a towel, an alarm clock (sheets and a pillow will be provided)"

Oh yeah, this was from my confirmation, as evinced by the phrase "this confirmation."

oh yeah thats a pretty useful list, add calculator in there if you need to take the math placement test

The blanket they have is rather thin and for some reason, Rieber Terrace gets super cold in the summer.

all official records?

don't really need it if they received your transcripts, at least i didn't need mine, i just brought the acceptance letter and an copy of my transcript with me

Where do you meet on the first day?

they have signs all around rieber to tell you where to go, DWAI

nvm figured it out. http://www.orientation.ucla.edu/confirmation/images/firstyear_check-in.pdf

whats the main use of laptop during orientation?

check class times to make your schedule... if you have it figured out and is sure that there are spots open (aka you don't need your laptop to check if there are spots open) then you don't really need it...

how do u know if u need to take a math placement test

gee, search CC for the thread "math placement exam" maybe?

Condoms, lots of them, and in different flavors

hehe^^^ that reminds me! my friend met his girlfriend at the UCSD orientation...they have mad sex all the time now -_-

What an odd twist this thread has taken....
