Ok, I'm not sure if this is the place, but I'm sure college kids would have more experience with this than High Schoolers.

I have a debit card, and I need a voided check for work (I'm not sure why they just don't give us paychecks but thats beside the point). Anyways, I'm going to order them from the bank, does anyone know how long it will take for them to get to my house?

A week? In other words, no.

Is it to set up direct deposit? If so, I think the only reason they ask for a voided check is that it's the easiest way to get all of the account numbers. Ask your bank if they can fill out something to give to your employer.

it usually takes about a week to get checks.

Yeah if you're not going to use the checks, its not really worth it to order them. See if your employer will just accept the banks routing number and your account number (the two numbers printed at the bottom of every check and the reason they want a check in the first place).

If this is just for direct deposit, most banks now have ways to automate this process (where they contact your employer and set things up with your permission).
Instead of going to your employer and doing it directly through their HR dept., go to your bank and go to either a teller or a customer service desk and ask about direct deposit. You'll need to fill out a form and have ID and such, but because they already know your account #, all they need is to know who your employer is so they can directly contact your employer and verify your account information -- and voila! Much easier if you don't use checks!

P.S.
And that was something I definitely learned in high school ;) ...first part time jobs teach you a lot of that crap

Mine usually come in 7-10 days at the absolute most. If your bank is locally-owned or otherwise really committed to that extra personal touch, you can often ask them to speed things along.

Thanks guys, I'll get my routing number etc later on. Good post apumic :)
